Eco room ( Nature cooled ) Non AC
by azhagarasan on Apr 02,2018
What's Good: staff accommodated early checkin and late checout.
What needs to improve : non-AC rooms are swamped with mosquitoes at night. Too bad we booked the so-called naturally-cooled rooms. Liked in the day. But suffered at night.
Reason For Rating : lunch buffet costs 750/pax. no alacarte choices. We have had to spend 5k+ for lunch. It can be less expensive or alacarte choices can be given.

What's Good: We stayed at the Sambu House. Unique experience. Its def worth the money. Easy access to the beach, swimming pool, good food. You can even milk a cow there. We went cycling around the resort. The house we stay was a thatched house with modern amenities. Will def recommend it!

We stayed at this place for one night during our weekend trip to Auroville & Pondicherry. It's a big place, and feels a bit run-down. The beach is very nice. Grounds can be a bit more looked-after. Rooms are very specious and food is good.

So we stayed in an eco cottage. We thought, no AC, no worry. But the place has other issues, we stayed at #Baywatch1 and the roof was breaking away. Plus the mosquito attack at night was not expected :(. All together they really need to revamp.

We recently visited the property. It is a great concept of living like a village. However while we were reading about it, nowhere was it mentioned that a non AC room will be an open accommodation. The great experience through the day at the beach property turned to a war at night with all of us fighting with mosquitoes, who would not budge to full-bed net, fans, coil or odomos. In fact, if you are travelling with kids, do not even consider a non AC room, even though the weather is pleasant in the evening and night. We travelled on the Eid weekend and most it was booked in advance, we got the last room and didn't have much choice.

We had a really below average experience. I can only hope it was a one off thing. The wood cabin was nothing like the promo pics. The lawns were unkempt and littered. The staff was not really pleasant. When a place has a star rating you do expect a certain standard. That was sadly missing. Even the food was not up to the mark. I'm giving it a 2 star only because they responded to our feedback and told us they would look into what our problem areas were.
