The property is located at koregaon park, which is one of the best place in pune for hanging out & chilling.Nearby to it, there were good cafes & restaurants. Even, there were 7-8 clubs & pubs in 5 minutes walking distance. Staff if really cooperative & friendly. There is a common area at the entry which is again a cool place to chill.

I'm not solo traveler but due to some personal reason, I'd to stay here alone for a week. It's just amazing experience. Beds are comfortable, reading light on each bed. Please don't come with expectation of hotel as you are not staying in a hotel. It's a place, where you meet people from different walks, you might get a chance to share tea or beer with them. It's a place to get the experience of sharing your space with strangers, to make new acquaintances if not friends. All in all, a great place to stay with bare minimum essentials and to meet new people.

Where to even start with this hostel! We are a group of 16 teachers staying in Pune and thought that Backpacker Panda would be perfect but it was far from. 1) When we first arrived, the room was dirty. The bins in the room were full and I had to ask someone to remove the collection of hair from the shower floor! Grim. 2) We had an inside facing room with a window at the top. Many times I saw a member of staff very directly looking into the room! My friend caught him staring at her on the toilet! When we spoke to management about this they didnt take our concerns very seriously and even accused us of scaring him! Their response was to put black paper on part of the window rather than dealing with the issue directly! 3) The staff were so rude that they never bothered to knock when coming into the room even though we had booked out the entire dorm. Many times we would be sleeping or getting changed. One member of staff even decided to walk into the girls room at midnight to change toilet paper. On top of this, we came into our room to find mess and dirt all over our sheets, towels and clothes when they were drilling into the wall to complete some repair work. We were given no prior warning about this at all. We complained and a few days later it happened again. 4) When things couldnt get any worse, all of the water went off for a 28 full hours. There was no way to shower, flush the toilet or even wash hands! As you can imagine the smell of the shared toilets was nothing short of disgusting. The water was then repaired but went off again the next day and was sporadic after that for three days. By this point, we had no choice but to pack our things and leave! Whilst some staff members were nice, most were inconsiderate and gave little regard to our thoughts. Avoid this place.

I booked this hotel for a night for 1 bed in the 6 bed sharing dormitory. As soon as I entered I felt like I am going to have some special time here. I checked in at 5 pm on Sunday and went roaming with my friend. They gave me a travel map of Pune with all the necessary traveling information at the time of check in. I was thinking of going to a bar/lounge to see the FIFA world cup final but when I saw their cool arrangement of match screening in their common seating area/hall, I thought of not wasting around 1000 bucks in a bar and enjoy the March here itself. I bought beer from a shop which is around 0.5 km away from backpackers and some biting. They allow you to have your own drinks and food in the common sitting area. It was an electrifying experience watching the match live with the cool and friendly crowd which also included their staff members. I enjoyed the match in just 350 rupees which I spent on my beer and biting. They also have a restaurant named shatranj which I think will have food and drinks' costs on the higher side. Its ambiance is very cool too. Coming to the room, the beds are clean and comfortable. They provide you with a locker attached to your bed which can occupy a small backpack and some valuables. There is a charging point attached to each individual bed which is a very good add on advantage. There's one attached bathroom to be shared between the 6 guys which is spacious clean and well maintained. Do bring your own towel otherwise you'll be charged 50 bucks for a towel. They also provide a bicycle for 100 bucks. I checked out next day at 7 am. Below is some information of nearby places: Koregaon park is the most happening area known for its bars and pubs. It's devided into 7 lanes and backpackers is in the 4th lane and all the pubs and bars are in lane 5, 6 and 7. Cost of beer was 160 for Kingfisher and 200 for Bira strong in the liquor shop. All in all Backpackers panda is a solo traveller's paradise!!!!
