What's Good: It's a heritage hotel, so location wise it's good with great view of sea. Hotel interior was also good.
What needs to improve : Service was not up to the mark. Rooms were not cleaned regularly unless you call up reception. Restaurant was not that good especially al-a-cartè was not at all good considering the price they are charging.

What's Good: A unique Heritage Hotel on the Sea Beach, the hotel bears an inherent touch of heritage with decent and well behaved staffs like Mr. SAGAR (Room Service) Mr. MOHANTY(Reception) & Mr. NIRAJ (Room Service), they make me felt like home and they are unforgettable. True value for money.I was there from 24th April 2016 to 26th April 2016. A unique place to stay in PURI.

What's Good: No Telephone in the ROOM. Though it was stated that FREE WI FI, there was no WIFI. Food was also not upto mark
by Cheryl Ringrow on Jun 02,2015
What's Good: They should provide free wi-fi in all rooms and the food needs a look into. staffs are very cordial. The swimming pool is not maintained at all, the water is dirty.
by Soumyajit Mukherjee on May 31,2015
What's Good: There are lots of things to improve. They should provide phone or bell in room to call the staff. Otherwise the behaviour of staffs are outstanding.

What's Good: Not at all up to the mark, I had booked suite room for 3 nights, but I would have preferred any 2 star hotel compared to this, rooms were spacious but everything else was at par with any 2 star hotels. Staff were courteous but hotel management is too poor.

What's Good: Nice location of the hotel. Right on the beach. But even the basic facilities like telephone in room missing. Though the staff is nice and helpful. Didnt order food in the hotel but their breakfast spread was basic but nice.

What's Good: Pros: location - proximity to sea beach, excellent hospitality (to the extent to custom food preparation for child). Cons: No central AC (rooms have only split ACs which barely serve the purpose), all other places is hot and sweltering. Food is good but very rich and oily and on the expensive side. No Bengali food is available. Place also need renovation (including painting) and upgrade. Overall a good second choice for the pros mentioned above.

What's Good: Our overall experience was not good, the wooden cottages we stayed in were not well maintained. The service was however good. The resturant in the hotel was very bad in terms of of quality and price.

What's Good: We booked a wooden cottage in this hotel but was really small. We had an arguement with the hotel staff and they agreed to shift us into a better room. The hotel staff was courteous that is why it deserves a 2 star rating otherwise not good. The hotel looked ok from outside but as you enter, its old and broken.

Once the house of a certain king, this century old building has been converted into a hotel with high ceiling rooms under which you have four poster beds with laced curtains. Rooms on ground floor facing the sea have a wide verandah at the front that lets you do more than just stretch your legs. The rooms are in need of some maintenance and polish though, if the hotel has intentions to deflect tourists that make a beeline for other hotels like Puri hotel or even Mayfair. Our room on the ground floor had a leaking air conditioner, a twice malfunctioning TV set and a hand shower in the bathroom that was barely usable. Nevertheless, this hotel has a couple of huge pluses which make it a worthwhile and comfortable place to stay during short visits to Puri. Right from the time you walk up the flight of staircases leading up from the portico to the reception, you are engulfed in an old world charm, a charm that gives you a heady feeling of having broken ties with the headache infested modern day albeit for a few days. The open space outside the portico, which is roughly the length of a driveway and not very well kept, gives one a feeling of space that is quite relaxing and rejuvenating. The hotel is right in the area called swargadwar, which is the hubbub of all beach activity in Puri and hence an added plus for those who love to jostle with crowds when on a holiday. The third plus, for foodies like me, is the restaurant of the hotel that serves some simple yet mouthwatering dishes. From the grilled pomfret to the kadhai chicken and naan to the daal fry that we consumed, filled us, right upto our hearts! A much recommended dish is the Odiya staple food called Pakhal bhaat. We found it to be amazing not only in its taste and flavour but also the way it was presented. Full marks to the chef there for cooking up such a memorable delicacy! As we left the place, there was just one or two things that we thought could be suggested by way of making improvements to the hotel's desire to provide delight to its residents. First, the bar needs to stocked up with some good Lager beer as there is no greater delight in sitting on the open terrace of the restaurant and sipping some Lager while the wind playfully caresses the hair and the cheeks. The second of course is the maintenance aspect of the rooms that I have mentioned earlier and which the hotel needs to take note of. Finally, the wooden curtain that seperates the balcony of the two rooms needs to be improvised upon a bit more to give a little bit more privacy to the resident guests.

An ancient palace has been turned into a hotel cum restaurant. The building is in colonial type located on the Puri beach. Has bar and serves very good and tasty veg and non veg meal items. Has indoor swimming pool to relax

Room location was pretty decent. It was a door away from the pool - though not sea facing. Location wise is excellent - just opposite to Puri sea-beach & a few meters walking distance from Swargduar. The front-desk staffs & housekeeping team is really helpful & extremely co-operative. We had lunch & breakfast for 3 days - food served was yummy, neat & clean. The atmosphere around the open-air was scintillating. There's no WiFi facility - thats the only setback.I would vote 100% for family visits
