Dia is more a small guest-house than a home-stay. Although the owners were in residence when I visited, I did not meet them once in a three night stay. They do not appear very interested in their guests, except as a source of revenue. The splendid Ravi holds the fort, and could not be more helpful. He is discreet, yet always available and willing to help in any way. His staff are equally eager to please. My room (Sewa) was a mixed bag. The bedroom was attractive and comfortable, but the bathroom was in dire need of renovation, and the whole place could use at least a lick of paint. Breakfast (no eggs allowed) was good. For dinner it is necessary to go into town. A free tuk-tuk is provided if one is going to the sister property, Seventh Heaven. Otherwise it is a ten to fifteen minute walk, half of it along a busy road. There are two dogs. One took a strong dislike to me (some would not blame it), and would charge at me, with teeth bared and barking furiously, whenever it saw or heard me. I was only able to come and go with an escort by the staff. I fear that decades of uncontrolled and unattractive building have destroyed most of the charm of old Pushkar. Concrete and cement have replaced trees. Pushy, venal 'priests' lie in wait at the ghats. Motorcycles, with horns blasting, driven by manic young men at high speed through the narrow streets of the bazaar are a real threat to life and limb. Although some temples are old, unsympathetic renovation means they are not interesting architecturally, and we infidels are forbidden from entering most, anyway.

Such lovely helpful staff who went out of their way to help. Drove us into town and also helped arrange flights to Delhi from Kishangarh for just 9000 rupees for two. rooms were lovely too and provided heaters

We stayed at Dia for just one night as part of a 2 week trip in Rajasthan. Dia was wonderful. The setting is beautiful and the rooms are lovely. It was so nice to be slightly away from the honking horns and noise of the town. We were also given a complimentary return tuk tuk ride to Inn Seventh Heaven for dinner, which we would hugely recommend as the thali we had was superb, and that's another lovely place too! The front of house man (I'm so sorry, I didn't catch his name) was fantastic. He took us to the bottom of 'the hill' so that we could walk up it for sunrise. He was really helpful too. We would definitely go back to Dia and would love to have stayed longer!

This is a beautifully cool, tastefully decorated and spacious retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. The location is great, breakfast delicious and meals at Seventh Heaven also excellent. But the outstanding feature for us was Ravi who went out of was way to see we had all we needed. He was always available yet discreet. Ravi took us out for an early morning walk to see the rose gardens. Outstanding service and we would highly recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed the laid out feel at Dia. the location was an easy walk from the main centre. The place felt very peaceful, the rooms balcony was a nice place to watch the local animals go by. Breakfast on the rooftop was a great way to start the day.
