What a spectacular palace midst a country side with a soul. The palace grounds are truly luxurious, beautiful pool area, gardens, courtyards and terraces which have a scenic view of Deogarh. Truly a heartwarming experience!

Deogarh Mahal is seeped in history and one gets to relive the history while staying at this awesome place. The approach is through the narrow market lanes barely broad enough for our car to go though. But up a small climb and you break into the courtyard of this sprawling palace which serves as the hotel. The original rooms and pathways have been maintained the way they were ( though a lift has been installed for those who cannot negotiated the steep, narrow steps). The original glass works and other murals on the ceilings and walls have been well preserved to give an ambiance of the years gone by. The rooms have small "jharonka' type windows that overlook the courtyard and the bathrooms are spacious fitted with modern amenities and hot running water. In the moonlight the white border of the palace walls shines through while the mornings are a treat to savoir from the rooftop. Visit this place for the sheer history of it. There is a small bar on the 1st floor courtyard where the evening cultural performances are organised. The staff is courteous and helpful, though the food could have been better. Overall, the package is a must visit.

Quite a big hotel with around 60 rooms. We were lucky to have the princess rooms which were large with huge bathrooms. They were quite original with their decor really beautiful tiling and family portraits all around. Food was delicious with dinner on the rooftop terrace. Staff really helpful. Went for drinks with our host and his family at their house overlooking the lake with all the water birds. They make it very homely and a great experience. We wished we had more than one night there. A lovely pool to cool off as well. Highly recommend a stop here.

From the drive into the hotel through the narrow market streets, to the unique rooms and narrow passage ways, views from the top to die for , this ex palace now hotel is a must stay experience that will leave a lasting impression

PROS - Attentive, friendly service - Mr. Jagdish Singh will spoil you at breakfast. He was awesome - Fun place to stay because it is so unique - One-of-a-kind rooms. I received a complimentary upgrade (room had outdoor hot tub) - Interesting history. 350-year-old property. Audio tours CONS - Rooms can be chilly in December
