Stayed one night here. Beautiful gardens with many animals and birds. Rooms are spacious with big bathroom with a good shower. Air con and ceiling fans. Mattresses are very hard. Food at restaurant was good and breakfast was plentiful, eggs, yoghurt, toast, fruit, jam, cornflakes tea and coffee.

I stayed here with my family during the monsoon season and it was a pleasure to have this marvelous hotel and its friendly and professional staff for just a few of us. Totally worth it. Dont miss an early morning walk through the entire property, it is a true gem.

The place maharani bagh truly justify its name. The rooms are spacious and you get complete privacy and the hotel is like a bird sanctuary with more than 50 birds you can see flying in and around resortany parrots. The food is awesome and also the service up to mark. Must visit

Maharani Bagh is an outstanding place for experiencing the authentic cuisine of Gujarat. The location itself needs a special mention in that it is way out of the urban fold of Ahmedabad and at the rims of the old City. The economic growth has put a shadow on the area now but the space management and the facade lends itself to some seclusion which makes you feel that you are in a rural abode. Coming to the Retreat itself, they have an exclusive museum where there is an exclusive collection of artefacts from across the nation but with an essential bias to Gujarat. the collection is indeed a product of immense passion and hard work. the labelling of artefacts is one area where the owners could set out to improve their standing. I suppose that a trained curator could do that work and also brief the visitors more authentically. They organise a variety of cultural shows for the guests including some folk dances and puppet show. the irony there is that the artists do not seem to be well paid as they solicit contributions. I felt awkward about it and their condition of attire etc made me feel that they were grossly under paid. The talent is there but they expect you to pay up for that instead of including it in the Bill. The food, I must say is absolutely out of the world right from the welcome drink to the various courses that they lay out for you. It would be worthwhile to read up on Gujarati cuisine from all its regions so that you do not end up tasting everything and thus not being able to relish the special ones you want to. The initial course will fill your bellies unless one is choosy about what you want. There is an array of sweets in the end and some of them are so fabulous that it would be a shame if you did not cater for that in your stomach space management. The costs are reasonable and I suppose you could negotiate a discount if you are in a large group just as we were. Happy Experiance....
