Good to visit for snacks. Nice view. don't look for bigger treat as restaurant is not meant for that. We had normal tea and toast, both was nicely prepared and served. Good for couple to hangout. ..

We went searching for this cafe, having seen some great online reviews. When we landed there, we were the only ones apart from one couple, who seemed were inhouse guests and were sitting around for the view but for sure not eating anything. In short we were the only ones ordering food. We instantly fell in love with the nice cozy ambiance and breathtaking view that the cafe offered. Next we were really looking forward to the food, although a tad surprised at the high prices, nevertheless went about ordering a few platters, paranthas, burgers, fritters, cake slices and couple of beverages. As you would see from our food order, we were real hungry and looking forward to the food. As our food started to arrive in installments, something which I really hate, we could see a few more hungry souls walk in, into the cafe. When our order did come fully and finally, we realised that the portions sizes were on the lower side considering the fact that the cafe was charging almost as high as a chic metro food outlet would charge, mind you I am not even comparing their prices with MNC fast food joints. However hungry that we were, decided to order for more, that is when the server told us that he did not have the items that we wanted to order. So after quick deliberations, we decided to order something else, this is when the server delivers the bombshell, which is, since he was serving other guests, he would no longer be taking any further orders from us. Surprised and dispirited we decided to coax him to serve us more food but this young man was clearly not interested in us anymore and did not even deem fit to respond to us in a pleasing manner. He simply took off. Now a word about the beverages, we were served the most substandard cold coffee and ice tea we've ever had, both the drinks were totally bland and highly diluted in water. On complaining about the same to our server, he shared his wisdom with us, please sir stir and drink (sic) and that for a beverage which he had mixed and whipped in a mixer just very then!!! Just for your info of the reader, the exchange about the beverage happened before we were denied service for further food ordering. Sorry to see some good ambiance and some good food, yes yes, you heard me right some of the items did indeed taste real nice, losing out to exorbitant pricing and dispirited or maybe borderline arrogant staff.....

Went with family for breakfast today morning. However to my surprise the staff wanted us out. First thing the waiter said was that they are serving guests who are staying and we have to wait for 30 mins at least. We asked for tea and waited patiently. After 30 mins asked the waiter how long will it take before he takes our order and he said he does not know how long it will take as they were busy serving there guests. Finally after 45 mins we decided to walk out. Being shown by Rocky and Mayur doesn't mean you have a class. If you do not have sufficient employees to handle outside guests you should not open the cafe for them. Strongly recommend to avoid it.

I need to thank Rocky and Mayur from Highway On My Plate for introducing this place to me. So when we visited Ranikhet...it was a must visit. The cafe is a lovely place to be...the decor...outside as well as inside make it a really cosy place. The balcony overlooking the valley...is a sight to behold. We were there perfectly in time to experience a mesmerizing sunset on a chilly evening. The food is a little exorbitantly priced. The cakes are great....loved the apple cinnamon cake. A must visit place when in Ranikhet.

You cannot and must not miss, The Cafe, that adjoins the Valley View Homestay, on NH 86 E,near Umang. They both lie 6km away from Ranikhet Golf Course, between Ranikhet and Almora. A visually appealing and attractive exterior where kettles and cages double up as planters, beckoned us indoors. Interesting bric a bra line the shelves, which add to the charm of the place. At the same time, giving it the feel of a quintessentially English cafe, that one would walk into, while driving around the English countryside. The menu boasts of soups and beverages ,salads, plates of continental mains and cakes and bakes. All deliciously home made. The restaurant also sells locally made jams from juicy fruits grown in the area, such as apricots and strawberries. There is also marmalade to be bought. If tea is what you are looking at to drink, then opt for the healthy choices of infusions made from the petals of the indigenously grown red rhododendron flower and the sacred basil. It is beneficial for increasing immunity against coughs, colds and asthmatic attacks. It also maintains good levels of blood cholesterol and triglycerides. The other interesting health giving infusion was the Rosemary Tea.This had a combination of rosemary, basil and green tea. Apart from giving a boost to the immune system, it also acts as a memory enhancer. Hence, one would totally agree with Samuel Goldwyn, when he said, Coffee, is not, my cup of tea.!As one is assured of the quality, genuineness and purity of the products, they prove to be irresistible purchases for self, family and friends. We walked out onto the narrow running balcony outside and were delighted to see the beautifully patterned wrought iron chairs and tables had gaily and prettily painted red roses and green leaves on them! Completely charming and quaint! The vista that unfolded before us was of the terraced fields. Across the valley, to pine and deodhar wrapped hills, that rose and fell like green waves. Puffs of white clouds seemed to be painted across the unbelievably clear and deep blue sky. You sit to watch the birds flit from an apple to a pear to a peach or apricot tree. Chattering and twittering excitedly as they are spoilt for the choicest of fresh treats. You are lost in meditation, lost in time, as you want to capture in detail the wondrous beauty and marvel at HIS beauteous creations!
