Any review for this place would fall short of what you actually experience here. As it is said that, words cant be good enough to describe the feeling, the place and the people who run this farmhouse. You get up in the morning with excellent view of the hills with prayer flags fluttering all around. The cottages can easily put any 2 BHK flats to shame in a proper city. The decor so very well gels with the natural surroundings. There is an infinity swimming pool for adults and one for kids with a gym nearby. The only sound one would hear once you get up is of birds chirping and your own footsteps. Everything that is served is fresh from their own farm. Starting from milk which in a bottle is served at 7:00 A.M daily. The taste of which is something which lingers on and you feel like asking for more. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner is all amazing with home grown products. We had eggs to order, toast with butter/jam, porridge, juice, buckwheat pancake with honey, cottage cheese with fresh tomatoes, alu parantha with fresh curd, tea/coffee, milk for breakfast. Lunch was Sikkimese with soup, rice, chapati, Dal, variety of veggies, chicken and dessert. All home grown. The taste and texture of lassi would stay on with me lifelong. Dinner was either Chinese or Continental as desired. All very tasty and healthy. Special care is taken of kids and childrens and their preferences. Coming back to the place, it is as beautiful and well managed as one could think of. This I am saying after visiting many places (Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives, etc.) across India and abroad. The hospitality extended by Gyatso and her family is unmatched and tough for any professional to emulate. Her father was kind enough to help us taste local brew - Chaang which was heavenly. The family has rich presence in Sikkim and a lineage to be proud of. They are ably supported by a person whose abbreviation of the name is OT. He is the most charming, helpful and humble person and always on his toes for any kind of help. We also did Manchu (hot stone bath). This is not a typical hot bath but something which takes almost 6 hours to get ready with local herbs. It was fabulous and needs to be experienced. Highly recommended. With all the proper amenities we must not forget that this is a homestay and we need to respect the people and surrounding there. The beauty of the place is in its serenity, silence and connect with nature. If you are planning to visit North East India, my recommendation is to include Biksthang Heritage Farmhouse in the itenary. I am sure the memories would be something to be cherished for lifelong. GO, REDISCOVER SELF.

We stayed for a night after a hike to Dzongri. Great welcome, excellent food, fascinating property and a very pleasant pool for some recovery time. Easy to get a shared jeep to Reyshii and then taxi up from there to save a long expensive private transfer.

Its worth to travel from europe to Biksthang Heritage Farmhouse just to spend some days there. A perfect place. The LUPEY Room was the cheapest option and it was perfect for us. The food is quite a thrill. Thanks Dekyi

We visited in mid November 2017. The place is in a wonderful location with a view to die for, great hospitality and the most fantastic home cooked food (and you get a lot at each meal). We stayed 3 nights in the glascottage. The cottage had all you needed and was nice and clean, and a beautiful view of the mountains. It is very peaceful location, and our days were spent on visiting the nearby village, relax at the pool/outdoor lounge with a beer/wine or a cup of tea and a book, talk to the "house"-father and learn about Sikkim/India, walking and look for birds, visit a monastery and talk to the monks and admire the view from also here (driver needed unless you want to walk for hrs uphill). We also tried the herb-bath and it was a great experience and very much recommended! I recommend at least 3 nights if you are coming from far away, as it can be a bit time-consuming to get there (lots of road building ongoing so took long time to travel even short distances). We travelled from Darjeeling and back to the airport with driver, and spent approx. 5hrs each way. We did not go here with children, but the place is perfect for children.

My son, his partner and I spent three days here as part of his 50th birthday celebration. We had learned of Bisthang from a friend but were overwhelmed by its beauty and peace. There are eight separate cottages nestled among trees, each with a balcony overlooking a variety of trees and plants with the mountains rising up in the distance. And we ate an extraordinary range of foods, most of Sikkimese origin and all delicious, including slow roast pork, nettle dhal and orchid leaves! To add to our experience the owner's father helped us learn and understand the varied history of Sikkim, including the last monarch's desperate attempts to keep Sikkim independent. A wonderful experience which I hope we can repeat!
