What's Good: Big rooms, a balcony with a view, good tea, no noise from street, chanting from outside
What needs to improve : Rickshaw drivers have some problems with finding it, but it's more about their mental and navigational skills. Also some garbage on the way, but it's whole state of Uttarakhand's problem! :)
Reason For Rating : A lucky combination of a good accommodation and a modest price makes this hotel attractive for people who appreciate a calm place: no luxury but a nice green view, clean rooms, water really hot and beds comfortable. Sitting on a balcony after a long day full of activities is utterly satisfying. By the way, Lakshman Jhula is just 15-20 min away. And there are many yoga activities around the hotel. Highely recommended!

I am a tourist from Australia and stayed here for a month. The hotel rooms are comfortable, clean, with great hot showers, wifi, and very helpful warm and hospitable service, and reasonably priced. It is also conveniently located to Anand Ashram. Id highly recommend it to anyone looking for simple and comfortable rooms.

The staff was extremely friendly to us throughout our visit, offering us welcome (non-alcoholic) drinks upon arriving and apologizing for minor imperfections in the room (e.g. a slightly chipped wall). The room was large, comfortable, and had a clean bathroom. The WiFi worked very well, although it glitched shortly when the power went out a few times (common for Tapovan). The food and room service was great as well. The location is a short walk to Luxman Jhula while being far enough away to avoid any unwanted noise. I highly recommend staying here!

We 3 friends stayed in 1 room of Hotel Hermitage for 2 nights in October 2017. We found this property to be quite nice, very quiet place, short distance away from highway which saved us from unnecessary traffic noise and dust. The room was of decent size - neither small nor too big. Washroom was clean and well maintained. Geyser was there in the bathroom, so no issues of hot water. The manger, Negi and the all-in-one boy, Pandit were quite polite and hospitable. They have a small dining area on the top floor, half enclosed with roof and half open to sky - satisfying everybody's choice. Though the kitchen was under renovation, but breakfast was provided (they do complimentary room service as well if asked for) - though the breakfast menu was highly limited but their Poha was very well made. And the best part was, when we asked them for simple dinner if possible (as we were tired are rafting and did not want to go out to Chotiwala), they served us nice rotis and excellent yellow dal - very well prepared, and salad as well. If you are okay with a non-lavish but comfortable accommodation, this is a real nice place. Overall, great value for money - worth each penny you spend. You are very close to Laxman Jhula (5 min. walk), Red Chilli Adventures office (5 min. walk) and still little away from the hustle and bustle. From Laxman Jhula, one can take a shared ride (in bolero or similar vehicle) to Ram Jhula for only Rs. 10/- and vice versa. Chotiwala Restaurant (famous for food since more than 50 years) and Parmarth Ashram (for Ganga Aarti) are at Ram Jhula.

Very friendly helpful staff at the reception. Rooms are big and cozy. If there are not many people Wi-Fi is working well. Just the price seemed too high for me. There is a rooftop where you have a nice view.
