We enjoyed our stay, but this is an overpriced commercial guesthouse, not a real homestay ... the caretaker and cook looked after us very well, but as English speakers it was difficult to communicate with them. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and food delicious. But the homely and friendly aspect of staying with the host was missing (emails to USA and Bangalore we think). No wifi available, generator not automatically started in the power cuts, hot water only available after complex enquiries, cold tap yielded only a brown dribble! Also too expensive so not good value.

We booked our plan to jog falls at the "n"th minute and after many enquiries to various homestays we found this place and got availability. This property is approx 1 km away from ikkeri temple. It was a bit difficult to spot this place as there were no sign boards. It was located amidst planatation of various types and many other trees. The homestay was built in a "vernacular + courtyard" architecture which was serene. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. We checked into the room and went out later in the evening for sighseeing. By the time we were back, the dinner was almost ready. Now here comes the best part!!..the food was so fresh and homely and the taste was yummm!!. It was a proper south indian dinner with chapati, curry, rice, sambhar, rasam and appam and much more...but the very fact that it was homely took it to another level. The hospitality was very good and much more than what we can get in a homestay. The night stay was very pleasant except a few insects/flies here and there. The next day breakfast was also very tasty and filling. We wished if we could stay for one more day, but it was already booked.Anyway had a wonderful stay altogether.Overall I would highly recommend this place to those who want to be disconnected from the world and unwind in nature. A special mention to Sharada-akka for preparing such yummy food, Desai- The household incharge person and finally Mrs.Vandana - for accomodating us in the last minute and giving us such a beautiful stay. We wish to visit again sometime.

We were 3 families who stayed in resort. The kids loved the space to run around. Food was exceptional and rooms were very well maintained and clean. Perfect home stay! Since the milk/curds delivery happens only once in a day, they dont really supply milk for kids etc, unless already requested.

Had been there in Aug'16. Difficult to find the place since no sign boards... The place is well maintained... you will find peacocks right outside the house.... complete greenery surrounding the place....Home made food is excellent... the cooks and helpers are very good...

We decided for a Family trip this Dasara holiday at the last minute . We were 16 members in total and stayed for 2 days. We all wished we could spend few more days at the end of our stay. Honestly, the service and hospitality was very good. We were all praise for the caretakers. Very kind and respectful. They have maintained the place very well. The surroundings is just so good. You will wake up to Peacocks' calling, birds chirping in the morning in the nearby woods which makes you wish you could wake up everyday the same way. The Food was just excellent. Enjoyed every meal we had there. They even packed us food for our afternoon excursion . This place is strategically placed near Sagara town. Close to a lot of attractions. We even made a trip to the beach in Honnavara about 80km away. In our 2 days trip, we were able to visited 1) Aghoreshwara Temple / Ikkeri Temple(simply awesome place, about 1 km away), 2) Sridhara Matha (spiritual place and Ghoshala) , 3) Jog Falls , obviously , 4) Honnemaradu(a must visit , bad 8km road but worth it at the end) , 5) Honnavara Eco Beach (which was not so good but very less people so enjoyed) 6. Apsara Konda (small falls and crampy place, not so great as it is crowded ). We skipped Siganduru as it took the whole afternoon when we visited a year ago (Ferry crossing takes time) Every day we came back to the place and were glad to spend time at the homestay. Book in advance if you are a group of 10 or more. I got lucky though. You have lot of place to visit so recommend atleast 3 days stay. Thanks to the Caretakers and Vandana who made our stay so very memorable . I have decided to visit again . Pictures of the place do not do justice . Hope you guys get a chance to enjoy the stay like our family did.
