Most of the resorts and homestays in Sakleshpur are quite far from the town. If looking to stay for night in the Sakleshpur itself, Ashritha is a good option. Good spacious rooms with clean washrooms and the best part is Check out time; which is 4:00 PM so that you can stay for a little longer..But note that it is a simple hotel with just rooms and no other facilities..No complimentary breakfast as well.. But good option if you are looking just for an overnight halt..

My family in Mangalore wanted to enjoy Deepawali holidays in some good resort and also see good picnic spots and temples in far off Sakleshpur. This name came from the SAKLESHWARA TEMPLE where SHIVA is the deity who has two more temples. One near the river where the last rites are also performed in front of the temple. We started on October 17th early morning at 7 am in a Cab. We are four of a family who wanted to RELAX, HAVE FUN and PLEASURE during Deepawali festival. The way to Sakleshpur was 130 km from Mangalore via NH 75. But, we chose Subrahmanya road and visited Subramanya Temple and had morning Breakfast. Temple visit was excellent and after that we went to BISLE VIEW. This was Mountain ranges of the Sakleshpur which nobody visits because the route is one way and one has to go to Subrahmanya and then travel on this route to reach Bisle View. Several photos have been uploaded. After this visit we reached to NH 75 and continued our journey. We reached Sakleshpur at 3 pm and immediately went to a Restaurant where they serve Akki Rotis and Kadai Chicken. We were tired and gobbled all the food that we can get there. We checked in Hotel Ashritha on the Main Road and our advance booking helped us to get good rooms there. The reception gave us two DOUBLE ROOMS for the 4 of us. Rooms were at the back of the Hotel. Tariff was 1,500/- for NON-AC and Rs. 2,000/- for AC room. Recently a face over was given to the rooms hence we got excellent rooms and far from the hustle and bustle of the normal cities. Good Service was there. As we wanted to rest there for 1 hour nobody disturbed us. We returned to the Hotel Ashritha as the Fort was closed after 5 pm. Next morning on 18th October, we went to Fort Manjarabad 5.2 km on NH 75, We went to Abhi Falls which was not worth seeing. The caretaker took money from us and when we went down we saw lot of obstacles and muddy road which was slippery. Our family cancelled this visit and 36 KM travelling was a waste. We returned to the Hotel who were ready to take our suggestions and asked us to visit again.

This hotel is good for an overnight stay. The deluxe room is good and spacious. Bathroom was clean, and the bed was good. This hotel has an attached veg restaurant. The car parking space is on the road side. The staff were polite and always available for any help.

The tariff (booked thru Cleartrip), the location, the simplicity and the helpful staff may be the only attractions of this hotel. When you are inside Hotel Ashrita, you should forget serenity, sumptuous food, elements of luxury and overall "feel good" atmosphere. The rooms are average, cleanliness average and facilities basic. However, its a perfect budget stop over, with an early morning departure. Sleep quality depends on the level of tiredness of your body : a fully worn out traveller may be gifted with a good 4/5 hours of sleep. If good sleep is an important part of your travel experience, avoid rooms facing the highway. The only thing which pleasantly surprised me though, is the ready flow of hot water from the shower at 6 am in the morning.

Hotel is clean but rooms are old and have an Indian train kind of feeling. Service was good, hotel has 24 hr check in facility and also has a parking space. The thing I liked about the place is the proximity to bus stand and the Surabhi restaurant just next to it which had amazing homely food. In all, the hotel is average with decent pricing. Not great but a doable stay in Sakleshpur.
