Stayed in this hotel with family. Located in a peaceful and beautiful spot this hotel urgently need Renovation and rebruffing, materials used are outdated, service needs improvement, There is colocal taste in food & beverages. Price overrated, Average hotel need urgent attention for maintenance.
Peaceful stay nice location

At a secluded location. If expectation is not high , the stay can be very peaceful. I stayed in this hotel 1 year before. Lot of parking space for the car. The path from the NH leading to this hotel is slightly uphill. Few up n down can burn a good amount of calory. Average food. No drama if you have extra person than the booked figure. Good if you have your own car. Slightly distant from the city but having good conveyance facility. As usual with all Govt.owned hotels, a lot of improvement is needed in all fronts, specially if the mindset of the employees change, other things like housekeeping ,sanity n punctuality can be automatically on right track.
Price is overrated as compared to the quality of food

The price of food here at Panthanivas is quite overrated as compared to the service provided here. Actually you have to pay tax here based on MRP. So as the price of different food items is high enough here, the tax is accordingly more. So I wouldn't recommend this as a budget hotel.
RADventure1: Pitstop17: Panthnivas Sambalpur

Almost on the final leg of our 7500 Km road trip across central India. We checked into Panthnivas Sambalpur. My plan was to visit Hirakud dam and around Sambalpur. Had heard so much about Hirakud, hence planned to stop over at Sambalpur and pay a visit to the largest dam in India. Sambalpur is an old city. It still carries that charm. People are at ease and no one is in tearing hurry. The town closes down at lunch time for siesta. Panthanivas too carries the characteristic. The Hotel is perched on a small hillock in a secluded area. Food quality across Odisha is absolutely tasty, Panthanivas maintains the tradition along. Being a Government run Hotel, it is a bit laid back. A little bit of added care and maintenance can fetch good value. Rooms are good size but bathrooms are once again traditional. Most residents are Government employees hence it fits into that culture well.

Location is very Good. rooms are not cleaned. Food is good . Atmosphere is good. Room service is Ok. The Rooms in the old building are quite spacious than the new building. 15 mins. from Sambalpur Junction station.
Its good for holiday seekers. Quiet peaceful location.
