We sought relief from buzziness of hew Delhi at this calm peaceful resort surrounded by the mighty Aravalli hills and the gracious and hospitable Meena (ethnic) group of people. The property sits just outside the Sariska Tiger reserve and by the carpet making town of Thanaghazi.. The rooms are spacious and clean. We opted for a regular room and not the more fancy tent type accommodations. the kitchen turned out decent food (we had dinner and breakfast). The grounds are clean and well kept - expect a lot of peacocks. I stepped outside the boundary into the edge of the reserve and ran into a Meena goat herd. He gave me a glimpse of what his life was about..the next morning another Meena staff member (named Hanuman) of the resort took me out and showed big cat pug marks and other features of the forest, the simple folks who live here and their lives. He was very proud to do so and never asked for dime of baksheesh or any thing else. Due t the chill in the air in late Nov i was dressed in 3 layers whereas hanuman had a sole thick T shirt that was ripped a bit. However he knoew all about the local cell phone system and explained how he stays in touch with his village 16 km away via his cell. The clam resort helped me unwind from a very hectic schedule in New Delhi. Upon reaching the resort after a long drive from NEw Delhi i took a dip in the chilly swimming pool on the property. After dark the crew lit a bonfire and brought the odd collection of guests (not too many on a late Sunday evening) to play ice breakers. For the 2 lunches on our trips we ate at very humble local roadside dhabaas also run by the Meena people. We gambled on a private jeep for a hunt for Shaire Khan at the reserve but the 2 Mrs Tigers and cubs eluded us!.The 2 males were in lock up after a bruising battle and were being attended to by a vet. the losest we came to the leopards was a kill hung from a tree (a spotted antelope). If you want to experience Rajasthani hospitality of the simple unspoiled kind this area offers many possibilities. We had a rewarding outing and the resort was a catalyst hence i rated it with 4 stars. It is a simple clean no frills place and good value for the money due to a done well in advance booking.. If you encounter a tiger in the reserve that would be a bonus, other wise enjoy the excellent milk cake in the local mithai shops.

We got lovely twin cottages that were clean and well maintained. The lunch was very fresh and though none of us is fond of chicken, we all polished the chicken portion. The check out time is a problem since you do not get enough time for bath after Safari.

While we stayed only for a night, our stay was very good. Icing on the cake was a tiger sighting ( rather uncommon in Sariska I am told ). Resort very reasonably priced and its spacious - god time to enjoy the sun and the early winter. They have good facilities for driver both stay and food. Rooms ( an upgraded tent version is where we stayed ) are nice and comfortable ( nothing fancy ), while food was just about ok. We found the staff very courteous.

I had booked a 1 night stay at Sterling Sariska through my father Sterling membership.. the provided us a guest room which was decently sized had a nice clean washroom and a good sitting area outside.. The property itself is somewhere at a distance of kms from the Sariska gate and very close to the forest so it's a great place to stay in the lap of nature As members it is compulsory to pay for all 3 meals per person which I feel is a bit unjust as we had missed our lunch that day as we arrived late but they were quite accommodating to offer us lunch the next day but since we had to leave early next day as well, we ordered some snacks in the evening and they adjusted the same against lunch which was really nice They have a nice activity area, along with swimming pool, bonfire The food was good even though the spread not that lavish.. Tandoori chicken which we ordered for snacks deserves a special mention. Even the staff was very helpful and went together with me to buy some booze after dark.. they have a liquor shop around 1km from their gate and they themselves don't serve any alcohol

Its an average well aintained place. The staff gets complacent at times. The food is just about ok. The hygiene of the pool is questionable. The rooms are good and spacious. The restaurant is good and the buffet caters well to the north indian pallete . Nothing great basically
