The location of the resort managed by Tourism department of Chhattisgarh in Sirpur is right at the edge of a forest. Nice and quite place to spend some quality time with friends and families. The ambiance is excellent and the working staffs were very efficient and helpful, unlike many of the government run facilities. The rooms are quite large and airy having most daily use comfort and facilities. The food available in the inn-house kitchen was too good. Atleast all the Indian vegetarian meals were made according to my personal need. One can enjoy the garden within the complex. Being within the walking distance to all the historical and archaeological excavations it helped me immensely to explore the ancient city at my own pace and with eyes to the details.I was lucky to be in the room where Dalai Lama stayed during his visit to Sirpur. The room rent was reasonable.Enjoy the sunshine and calmness which can only bring peace to the mind and soul.

Frankly speaking I was looking out for an accommodation at Hareli Eco Resort Barnawapara ( CG Govt Tourism Guest House) during the peak tourist season of December Chirstmas-New Year period but as the rooms were exhausted I tweaked my trip from a pure Wildlife Expedition into a Heritage-Wildlife Tour combining stay and visit in Sirpur and followed by visiting the famed Bar-Nawapara WLS. Booking any CG Govt. Tourism is through there new site www.tourism.cg.gov.in and rates are fixed. Other option available is to directly walk into CG Tourism Office at CG Tourism Hotel,Telibandha Chowk of Raipur. Bookings are also available directly at the Hotels also, Booking was smooth so was reaching the Hotel. Sirpur is 100Kms away from Raipur City/Airport on the NH6 on Sambalpur Highway. One has to take a left turn; near a huge and Beautiful Reservoir to right called as the Kodar Resorvoir . The turninig is clearly marked with Sign boards of CG Govt. Tourism! The hotel is located 100m rightside into the Sirpur aproach road a km before Ambedkar Chowk of Sirpur. a There are 19 rooms - LED TVs and AC/Non AC Convertible Class Rooms (14 ft by 20 ft hall withan adjoining changing area and Toilet;), Two 15 Bedded Dorms, a 300 Seater Party Hall, superb Lounges, and huge modern Restaurants. I stayed in room 8 and just opposite to my room was room -7. You would frown what's the big deal??? But I must say room 7 is called the HH Dalai Lama Room as the Great Monk Stayed in this room when he had visited Sirpur. there are lush green parks and a jooging track...No gym..No wifi...No Din of the Cities....Peaceful....and unlike other tourist places its free of mobby crowd!!! In and around the Resort is a beautiful green forest and no human settlement! Food was good and the staff was very cordial....We used to order food few hours before and when we reached the restaurant the kitchen could serve us hot food in no wait time!! Because the hotel is beyond competition the Staff may look to you a bit slow but nowhere could we find any complaint in their Hospitality. The Sirpur Archaeological Sites are within 1-1.5 kms away from the Hotel. The Tourist Info Centre is on the Road frm where one has o take a turn to reach the Hotel. Here u can get Guides @ 200-300 INRupees and the staff there is very cordial. The Barnawapara Sanctuary is 35 Kms away from Sirpur. There are two circuitous roads from Sirpur - 1. Via the Mohda Area(road is under construction so not advisable) 2. Via Rumkhel and Rawaaan(it is a better road). I must say this Property os beautiful tranquil and above all Clean and pristine! I would request anyone visiting this area can spen a couple of days Here! Thanks and Johar! Sandeep 9407980647
