Its rare to find an isolated yet fine living accomodation in the hills nowadays. But the Fauna Heights,, which is part of a complex of several villas and apartments is secretly nestled right above the Sattal Lake. From Delhi, one should expect a 7-8 hour easy drive, with couple of stops to enjoy the food and the journey. We stayed at the 2 bedroom, 3 bath villa. It has a modern kitchen with all that's needed to keep a family going. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortably sleeping 4 adults with attached clean and modern baths. The local help is indeed warm and friendly, keeping the place clean and running with a smile forever. A nice trimmed lawn right in front of the villa completes the feeling of a perfect location. The lake, with its usual amenities of several food joints, paddle boating, kayaking & river crossing, is just a 7 minute walk down from the complex. The walk back up is more invigorating as it takes a good 40 minutes to climb back uphill. Bhimtal is just a 20 minute drive from our complex. While Naukuchiyatal (very cool) is about 30 minutes, Nainital (highly avoidable due to the mad rush and zero parking) being about 60 minutes. There are several treks one can take in different directions. One can also expect to spot some wildlife early morning.

Easy 6 hour drive (from DelhI), lovely views & a lovelier lake. Wonder why it took us so long to discover Sattal. Definitely one of the nicer places in Kumaon- all green with hardly any construction. And Fauna Heights is just what one looks for but seldom finds - a good location, neat, clean, comfortable & reasonably priced. Tastefully done up, with a small but adequate kitchenette. Shyam, their major domo, acts as cook, housekeeper, caretaker all rolled into one. Warning - Not recommended for the mall rats whose idea of a good vacation is Mussoorie There is virtually no development if Sattal - only small dhabas serving good karhi chawal by the lake. Only lovely walks, boat rides & an opportunity to spend quality time with your family.

Sattal is a little piece of paradise on earth. Far from the madding crowd of the city...yet not that far! What made our trip to Sattal more memorable was our stay at Fauna Heights and our little adventurous trips to the wilderness. This place is nestled with warmth and peace amidst nature. Impeccable hospitality, mouth-watering food, and most importantly a very restful place to stay in.are a few things that comes from the back of my mind. I would definitely recommend it for your bonding time with nature. your ownself..or with friends and family. Big thanks for the lovely stay and wonderful experience.

A trip to Fauna Heights takes you into a trance - a peaceful, clean, green & happy environment. All you can hear is the silence, the chirping of birds and the sound of water falling from the temporary waterfalls created during the monsoons. A home way from home - one can go for long walks amidst the lush green jungles, or read a book while sipping a cup of coffee watching the picturesque valley from the lawns at Fauna Heights or watch the star lit sky with scotch on the rocks! Not to forget, the amaaaaaazing food that adds to the experience. The wood fire oven Pizza's were the last thing I had expected to find at such a place. Cheers to the team at Fauna heights! Keep up the spirit. You guys rock!!

This was the best break I could have had. I had the opportunity to stay at the cottage and apartments. All I can say is "awesome" accommodations. The rooms look out to what I say a scenic experience. Room are with all the amenities of a good living. Food was like Home away from Home. A very hospitable team of support who take good care of you. Thanks for the great experience
