One of the best jungle experiences you can have, located in the buffer zone of Ratapani jungle near Bhopal. Resort was very good, very quiet and at excellent location. The services and staff were amazing and very helpful. They cook the food in a very homely manner. This jungle lodge has so many surprises for you, our cottage open to the nature, birds chirping, squirrels playing around you while you are sipping a nice cup of tea, be in the pool in the middle of the jungle with birds are all around you, Overall, a fantastic adventurous experience. To summarize - Great Place - Amazing Experience - Very Warm and Helpful Staff - Good Food - Comfortable Stay - Nice arrangements

Had a great time with the family.. very well designed, beautiful place in midst of nature. Swimming pool was very well maintained n refreshing. Budget food had lot of options. The walk in the river basin (lower deck) was a highlight for me, although everyone may not enjoy. Upper deck was great for silent reflection.

Just visited this place on 15th March 2018 with a group of friends. They provided 3 types of room such as cottage, suites and tent. We choose tent to get some different experience. The entire stay was just an average experience. I would like to share some of our personal experience and views about this place. Negative Points: 1) WiFi - This place was very far from the city. So, there was no WiFi or network inside the lodge. If you are dependent on GPS and had not planned anything before reaching the lodge then you will be in trouble. You will be cut off from the outer world. We could not able to call anyone back in the family. We did not have much idea about the tourist places or what kind of activities can be done near the lodge. So, everyday we had to drive 30mins to get mobile network. 2) Pesticide - The lodge was covered with trees and bushes however, there was no pesticide control. All kinds of insects you can find especially inside the tent. You can find frog, light bugs, mouse, bee, mosquitosetc. If you are keeping any food item outside the fridge then it could attack by mouse. 3) Food - The food as per the charge they were taking was not up to the mark. South Indian dishes (dosa, sambar, idli) were of poor quality. Rest of the food was too much oily and spicy in the breakfast menu too. Poha, pancake and juice were good. There was not much variety. We stayed for 3 days. For the first 2 days the menu was same. 4) Hygiene - The cafeteria, pool area, bathrooms were not so clean. They always used to have Agarbatti to hide the bad smell inside the cafeteria. 5) Club - The club was poorly maintained. The sports equipment such as TT, billiard, carom, and chess everything was not in good condition. 6) Climate - Though the place was far from main city and surrounded with trees still it was very hot during March. So, November or February is the better time to go there. 7) Location - The location of the lodge is very bad. Every tourist place was far from this lodge. And there was no activity or entertainment inside the lodge. If you have a good company then its good as you can get enough time to talk. 8) The area was very large however there was no play area such as swing or slide for toddlers. Positive Points: Yes, of course it had some positive points too. 1) This place was good for traveler who wants to spend some lonely time. As I had mentioned there was no WiFi or mobile network. So you will not be disturbed by any office call. Its a very peaceful area. 2) The service provided inside the tent such as AC, fridge, bathroom amenities, etc. were good. 3) This place was good for bird watching and also good for morning walk. 4) Good place for people who love to stare at stars at night. The sky was very clear. 5) Swimming pool area was good. 6) Its better if you are going there in winter as they had bonfire arrangement every evening. So, you can take your guitar along with and can have some musical evening.

Happened to visit the Ratapani Jungle Lodge for a day visit to hang around and have lunch,at the fringe of the water reservoir Kolar Dam, an hour and a quarter drive from Bhopal city. The resort has maintained the jungle trees intact as they would have had taken it over from the Forest Deptt.,the best part is the beauty of natural and dense forest has been maintained intact. The placing of the open dinning hall, fully equipped club house and to top it the decent and neat and inviting swimming pool adds on to its charm. At the entrance the Jeep ,the tractor and the artificial well puts one up in village spirit, the caving pathways fringed with tall trees ,leading to rooms/tents makes one feel the wilderness of the jungle interspersed with grass lawns and sprinklers around sprinkling water raise your spirit. At the reception Mr. Shahbaz the Manager of the jungle lodge is very friendly and cool and readily available and informative as well, all the staff at the resort are very helpful and with a pleasant demeanour .The chirping birds , far off sound of the water boats, the receding waterline of the reservoir fringed with temp huts far off around and the far reaching sight of the forest around the reservoir was a feast to our eyes. To top it up the delicious buffet laid by the lodge was an add on to this livid visit. Thanks to Ms.Singh the owner of this resort for owning a beautiful and raw resort, for having maintaining it ,to this wonderful standard and meeting up to the expectations of her guests. The rooms are quite spacious and airy and the tents give a touch of adventure in the Jungle, everything here is lively and nice .Couldn't stay back in the evening for the sombre sunset and the campfire on their upper deck, better luck next time, An Adventurous experience and feel we enjoyed to the most.
