A wonderful place to stay while in Shillong. Whenever I visit Meghalaya, I stop over in Shillong for a couple of days and this is the place I stay in. Beautiful property, a lovely garden, good food and friendly staff. Sharlene, who runs the place is an orchid lover and there are some amazing orchids planted around the property. All in all, a great experience and I can surely recommend this place for your next visit to Shillong.

Beautiful property with an old world charm and a lovely garden (be sure to check out the orchids). This makes for the stay to be very peaceful and relaxing. The hotel is located in a quiet locality, hence you tend to forget the chaos on Shillong streets. Staff are most helpful. Food was brilliant. Rooms were large. Linen was clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

we stayed in the Aerodyne cottage in Shillong for two days in November first week and we were given the room in the old bungalow and the room was simply superb with a view of the gardens The room had a old world charm with original wooden flooring's and staircase and the room was very tastefully done and it had elegance and old world charm and class The sofa and the beds and the toilets were kept spotlessly clean every day and the dining hall was small and compact and the food served was homely , wholesome and prepared and served with love Eveyone was very helpful and courteous and it was sad that we could not stay longer but when we do come back to Shillong we will definitely stay in Aerodyne Cottage only

This hotel is apparently going through renovation. So all the reviews about a room with a porch etc are irrelevant now. The room in the chalet is land locked with really nothing worth seeing through the windows. Service is spotty - we had to beg the woman who let us in for some tea because she wanted us to make our own dip tea in the room! Night was stuffy (no fan or AC) so had to ask for fans to survive the night. We changed our plans and scooted next morning to Cherrapunjee, paying the cancellation fee, and boy were we glad!! And that brings me to the second point. Shillong is eminently skippable. The city us dirty and traffuc is a nightmare. Even if there is anything worth seeing, you will mostly be on the road given traffic. If you really want to do Shillong, you are better off finding a proper hotel like Poinisuk etc so you have a comfortable evening and a good night's add sleep before facing more traffic the next day!!

We visited Shillong last week and stayed at Aerodene Cottage as recommended by our friends. Exactly like we heard about, it is truly a wonderful place to stay. Typically added a local flavor by its owner Sharlene and her team, all the wooden cottages are well designed making it a wonderful heritage structure. Placed in the heart of the city yet away from its hussle bussle. Rukma maam and her team did a fantastic job in maintaining the same. Food here is quiet homely and simple yet satisfies your taste buds. They have maintained a beautiful vegetable garden and sipping your morning tea there is simply a sight to die for. Rukma maam is always enthusiastic for guiding tourists for the places to visit in and around Shillong. The bunch of ladies who work there always wear a smile. Already in love with the place and would like to visit again and again. Thanks a lot Sharlene and Rukma maam. See you all soon!!
