I was very elated after checking in the room. Because you can enjoy a great mountain view from the window and balcony. It was a business trip so after a while I went to bed. But then I realized the bed was full of bed bugs. I could not find any one to ask for help and had to send a sleepless night.

I really felt bad for the owner, poor old man still couldn't come out of the colonial hangover! He is still a "white man's burden"! The rooms were good but the over all service was very very average and the owner..Oh my god such a rude person! Let me tell you Mister, no matter how well versed you are in the foreign language, they will always treat you as their subject, it has got entrenched deep in their psyche. So,old man its high time you should start respecting your own country , culture and of course reflect it in your attitude...

The Guesthouse in located centrally but the ill-mannered, self-righteous owner of the Guesthouse Mr. Hussain is a big put off !. We stayed here for three nights and when we requested for a room with proper ventilation, he raised his voice and lectured us on how Delhi the city that we come from is filthy and polluted whereas his guest house is a heaven on earth! He has no sense of talking to the customer and feels that he is doing a favor by renting out his guest house Additionally, the rooms are not ventilated and are very small, we stayed in their super deluxe room which claimed to have a balcony but it was a common balcony accessible from outside the room. The room was even smaller than the standard room! The complementary breakfast has just one option- bread and butter ! A horrible expereince and would never recommend anyone to stay here. Go to this guest house only if you have no other options availble in the city.

We were a group of 7 guys looking for a place to crash during the Weekender. Budget was a factor as we are just college students, Magnificent guest house. Beautiful property. Located at a very posh locality. Everything is well accessible. Well cleaned and maintained rooms. The balcony offers a beautiful view of the mountains.A very homely staying experience. Rules are very easy to maintain around the place. The rule regarding no lunch being served and dinner to be ordered before 4:30 just highlights the discipline around the place..They prepare the food with great care hence they require the order early. Lunch is served if guests are sick or have a fever, other than that, there is a big world outside the guest house, where you can easily walk and find food. ;) Food is worth the quantity and quality(Order the Mongolian pork :D). The staff is very well mannered and they are wonderful people. Treat them like you would treat a brother. We had our fare share of fun with them during our stay. :D And lastly Mr.Hussain, oh my god, what a man! He is a former world bank employee, and well traveled. The man knows a lot, trust me. He has this God level of sarcasm. xD PS: Stay off the grass xD Overall , anytime i visit Shillong, Summit will be my first choice and i would suggest the same to you as well. *Free wifi throughout the day :D

It is a lovely place to stay. Everyone is very cordial. Most of the places in Shillong are nearby and very accessible. I loved the hospitality and homely food. Owner of the hostel is very helpful and caring in nature. Overall 10/10.
