We booked the HPTDC property in Naldehra due to common understanding that government properties are mostly at best location. Moreover this was also closest to the Golf Course and Picnic spot (200 Meters walk). However it was an horrible experience. We booked online a family cottage, the outside view looks like a cottage but the interior of the rooms has been changed (due to repairs). The bed lined and quality of quilt was below average. There was an intercom but it was not functional, we were given a land line number to call for room service but that number was also down. Second night, we found that there is no water in bathrooms, I had to walk to reception area due to no phone and was told that the person who turn on the water pump has left and the water will come in morning. I had no choice but to ask them to give me two jugs of water which can be used in toilet for emergency. in morning we found no electricity and no water till the time we checked out, I can't explain enough how difficult it was for us (family of 4 adults and 3 kids) to survive without water. We could not even brush in morning. Left the feedback at reception while checking out but the person was hardly seems to be concern, forget about even being sorry for the condition. Now, let me recommend if you are planning a trip to Naldehra a) There are at least two more properties which are of better condition, as well as much better location as compared to HPTDC. a) Chalet Naldehra (relatively expensive, but worth the price b) Woodstock resort. I will recommend to try one of them if you are visiting this place. b) There are horse men around the HPTDC property because from its entrance, the trek for picnic spot/golf course starts. In most of the online reviews, no one has ever mentioned that this trek is merely 200 meters and an easy climb for young and kids. In other words if you are fit to take a horse ride, it will be much easier to walk. The horse men will always try to fool you by saying that it is 1 hour trek, but it is not more than 5 min trek. Moreover as you climb and after paying the entry fee (Rs, 10), go towards right side which is a short walk way, you first see the golf ground and immediately after the picnic spot (see pic). The horse/pony men will take you towards left side which is a long way and many people get confused due to this. The golf course is visible from outside, you can take pic etc but entry is restricted to members only. You can get into the cafeteria managed by golf club but it is not worth (due to close space). c) Naldehra is a peaceful hill station, I will also recommend a drive till Tatta pani, due to lot of scenic view around. The tatta pani is a hot water spring but not managed properly, therefore it is an average place to visit. But the scene of valleys and villages is awesome and highly recommended if you have your own vehicle.

We stayed there in April-2017, we were four friends. Location is quite good out of main city and no noise. Peaceful environment. Although the room service was quite slow might be due to less workers and large area to serve. Food was not that good. Overall good place to stay and chill out. One can opt this place as its in outskirts and shimla is very near to it, you can keep yourself out of city noise..!!

Hotel is situated in a beautiful location, but the individual huts are not at all worth staying in. They're far apart from each other, the lighting at night is very poor, so the huts don't feel safe. Moreover, they have a musty smell inside and the locks from inside are very flimsy. They also have created a separate building with hotel rooms, which are really good and also cheaper. I strongly recommend to stay in those instead of the huts. The place is beautiful and overlooks the valley. The restaurant food is very good and the staff is very courteous and supportive.

This is my first review on Trip advisor and I am really feeling sad to start with a negative review. In August 2016 I went to Naldehra for 3 night stay at Golf Glade Hotel, HPTDC, log huts 4. The hotel, undoubtedly, is in a prime location specially log hut 4 Facing the golf course. Now here comes my list of ccriticism. The food served in HPTDC cafe is PATHETIC. The cost of beer is 315 which u get @130 outside. The food served was undigestible...full of salt even a family next to us was complaicomplaining about the same. The service of the staff is good but they are not at all courteous. I ve been to Chail in June and the Chail HPTDC's staffs were too good. So let me come back to my point, if you want to sit relax and eat then instead of entering into HPTDC cafe, just walk down to the main road and keep walking ttowards the left and you'll see Hill view restaurant though the taste of food is not that good but it's highly pocket friendly and the view served in the menu from the open restaurant is free of cost :) Now let me talk little about the huts. 1. No maintenance 2. Carpets were stained and smelly 3. Pots were dirty and stained. 4. Windows in the washroom were just for a show. 5. No stopper in the washroom ( just now i realized I shouldn't be so much critical) however they provided a stone as a stopper Free of cost with no extra taxes...sarcasm intended. LOL. 6. The washrooms were too small & clumsy. But even still you planning a trip to Naldehra do not miss your dinner at the revolving restaurant at The Chalets. Dear friends if u abide by my advice I can guarantee you will not regret visiting chail ( log huts) than Naldehra. Bye and I will definitely come back with more new places and reviews. Bon Voyage!
