The drive to Kolavara (the village and the homestay location) was really good although we started on long weekend - since we took the route BLR - Chanrayptana (Hassan highway) -> Arsikere - Tarikere - NR Pura - Koppa - Kolavara. Directions from the host - Vatsalya - was EXCELLENT. :) We were two families travelling with three kids. The first reaction as entered the homestay was that it looked more like a resort than a homestay. Very calm and quite HUGE estate with a home right in the middle of it. The hosts were really welcoming and took care of our checkin in a similar fashion as any relative is welcomed into a house. We stayed in this place for 2 nights and following were the top highlights: - Hospitality: This was one of the places where i was met with highest level of hospitality. The hosts Vatsalya and Nishcal were excellent thorough out our stay. But best were Nischals parents who were really friendly and spoke to us as if we were known to each other from long time. We all enjoyed the nice short discussions with them. During our entire stay they checked on us regularly and also suggested great places to visit. One of the best experiences with hosts for me. - Food: One of the delicious set of meals that had during the entire stay. ALL meals (BF, Lunch and Dinner) were excellent. In fact almost all dishes in all meals were excellent. They generally had two non veg dishes for lunch and dinner - they were excellent too - however the veg dishes were the highlight and we really relished all the dishes. Dinners always had one live counter like for neer dosa, akki roti etc. - Activities: Nishchal took us out for a plantation walk early morning and this was excellent. We had lot of fun walking around as the other inmates of the homestay were also good fun during our stay. One interesting fact we realised was that all the six families that visited during stay were all "Kannada" speaking - and this really led us to interesting conversations with other inmates. I think in just 2 days we had lots of fun. Overall it was one of memorable and pleasant stay. Thanks to the hosts for making this a fantastic weekend for us.

We had an amazing 2 days of stay at the Kolavara heritage Homestay the Jan end. We arrived for lunch, tasted a few of the dishes and we knew we are going to be pampered with one great meal after the other. The personal touch of Kolavara family members was simply superb. One can brush off whether every Homestay tries to offer it. However, what you see here is a very genuine socializing that the family offers through out the stay. The trek or walk thru the Areca plantation is one of the best memories. Nischal took us through a very refreshing and enriching walk thats a mix of nature, oxygen and knowledge around plant species. One cant get enough of nature when we immerse ourselves in this place. The group of 4-5 families that stayed in this Homestay became good friends and that was an icing on the cake. Finally, our thanks to Vathsalya for making our stay from the booking to end very smooth and enjoyable. In signing off, I simply would like to say *Hospitality thy name is Kolavara Heritage.*

Food is amazing. They would let u taste around 5types of homemade wine and after which u can buy the same.. Swimming pool is an added advantage to this home. Surrounded by coffee, arecanut estate the house was built 130years ago. Its so neat and clean. Service is awesome. Kuppali is just 5kms from this home stay. One of the best homestays in Karnataka

Its a 100+ year old house - impeccably maintained and have the modern amenities nicely blended. Few notes: 1. First of all, approach to the home-stay is very straightforward and has proper roads all the way to the car parking and beyond !! Just have to follow the Google maps to reach the village called "Kolavara" and from the junction, this is hardly 500 meters away. 2. Very first sight of the garden at the entrance and the heritage home is breath taking. Entire property is very beautifully maintained. 3. Rooms are clean and tidy. Bathroom was spacious in the room we stayed (room number 5). The hot-t-t-t water is available throughout the day. 4. As many reviews noted, food is excellent. Choice of food was also good and each dish was yummy. 5. Hospitality of the hosts are beyond words. Narayana Murthy uncle was a great company - had so many long conversations on different topics. We really felt like staying in our own home. 6. Hosts of amenities - well maintained swimming pool and other indoor games available. 7. Its a very good place to do birding as well. Just at the back of the house, there is a small pond where I saw many birds - Malbar Barbet, Malbar Starling, Chestnut headed bee eaters, Hornbills, Crimson backed sun birds, Shama and many more.

The Place is very beautiful and very well maintained- Couldn't believe it is more than 100 years house...The host are very warm and will guide well for visit to surrounding places... The kids really loved the Place. Uncle Narayanmurthy is always at his Best sense of Humor at every situation. The tasty Malnad cuisine served with warm hospitality makes it more delicious.
