Though we had booked a deluxe room, facilities provided were that of a standard room. We had to even demand things like an electric kettle, tea pouches n even cups, that one assumes are a normal part of the facilities provided by a deluxe establishment. Room size and other facilities were ok. Would describe the quality and taste of food as below average- had to wait till eternity for rotis to be served! Staff were cordial and cooperative but quality of food in all the CHAS group of hotels that our tour operators had booked for us left much to be desired.

12-13 August, 2017. This was not a planned stay, but any means. We had arrived at Bagdogra airport on our way to Majhitar, Sikkim, when our host (at Sikkim) informed us that due to a massive landslide, the road to Sikkim would be closed for at least a few hours. We had arrived in Bagdogra in the early afternoon, and he suggested that we stay the night in Bagdogra or Siliguri, and set out the next morning, for Majhitar. He suggested Swastik Regency Hotel at Siliguri. The Wife, Junior and Your Truly set out by road for the said hotel, from Bagdogra airport. The hotel lies on the Hill Cart Lane (actually, a by-lane close to this main arterial road), and falls on the right side when coming in from Bagdogra, and is close to the SNT bus stand. This was still a bit confusing, since there were at least two other hotels named `Swastik' in the vicinity (on the left side of the road, with one of them even clearly visible from the main road), and we landed up there by mistake, in the pouring rain. IT was not a major error, as we discovered our mistake, and after a short search, landed up at our destination. The hotel itself proved to be a pleasant surprise. Neat and clean and well-organised, with some good food in a small restaurant on the ground floor. We were assigned room 301: a neat room with a small adjacent ante-room with French windows. The reception area is large and well-lit, with natural as well as artificial light. There is a large painting, and some decent sitting space. The reception also has a farmed goibibo certificate of excellent 2016-17, which increased our confidence in this choice of hotel. We were not disappointed. The place is next to an old bungalow, and the general rainy weather gave the place a romantic feel. The room had a double bed, a TV set, an air-conditioner, windows, a small study area, a dressing table, a small refrigerator, and a wooden almirah. There was a kettle, and pouches for hot beverages. The bathroom was neat and clean as well, with a geyser for hot water. Our first stop was at the restaurant for lunch: the service was very prompt, and food tasty, and made to order. It would be a mushroom soup for Junior, a simple dal and mixed vegetables for us. A paneer bhurji kept Junior's spirits up. We stayed the night, and set out for Majhitar after a breakfast of paranthas with curd. Overall, a very nice experience.

We arrived there on 27th March and stayed for one night only but the management, as well as the staff members, were very helpful in arranging for our travel plans, late evening food requirements etc. The food at the restaurant is decent though the area needs a little attention for mosquitoes. The location is good if the purpose of the stay is only as a stop in the onward journey to other tourist places like Sikkim, Darjeeling etc.

As the title goes by, the staff at the reception is so irritating, they used to talk in a tone as if we had landed there digging at their pockets. No welcome kit, no towel, torn and smelly rags are their to greet you. The geyser switch are controlled by the reception. U have to call them to get your hot water!! The restaurant have only the menu to show. U have the choice to choose...they have the answer..not available! Even after pre-booking and making full payment in advance, the rooms were not readied. Of course I have intimated the time of my arrival and yes I was even late at it. I found that my assigned room is given to some aother guest and I am compromised with other room. Over all experience is bad. Yes, the masala omelette in the complementary breakfast was good. Frustrated enough, I did not paid any tips!!

I have stayed here twice. First time in Oct,2011 I would have given it a better rating but this time in Oct,2016 I noticed some staff are changed. The behavior of the staff is the only thing I didn't like. We had to check out in the early morning for NJP Station and the front desk manager insisted on hiring 'their' car for the drop at the higher price. We rejected & arranged our own car. That driver later told me that the doorman took bribe from him in the morning. Also the restaurant staff ask for tip shamelessly without doing any extra mentionable service. However I still choose to stay here as this is near to the NJP station and the restaurant offers tasty food.
