The location and the rooms are really good. The immediate surrounding of the houseboat is a bit dirty which is sad. But what irritated me the most was the habit of the owner and the caretaker (at Gul Rose) to smoke in front of the guests. I was really surprised by this unwelcome behaviour and lack of courtesy. But for this, a very good stay and the owner will arrange taxi for you at reasonable rates. Good food. Stayed on 31st July for one night.

We feel too good and enjoyed every moment with homely atmosphere. I think its the best houseboat in srinaga. Mr fayaz is the best and proper person for guidance for tour in kashmir and laddakh. We tooked tour frm him and he managed everything above our expectations.

We worked with Kolu House Boats the travel company to flesh out the itinerary for our trip to Kashmir. They did a really fine job of proposing several side tours and adapting proposal to our interests. The nice thing was that we could compare different agencies and select the one that seemed to best meet our needs. We were pleased that Kolu House Boats not only came up with a proposal to our liking but continued to follow through with us throughout the months leading up to the actual trip. We generally prefer experiencing natural beauty over cities, and there were many natural wonders to take in during our three weeks in Kashmir. Among the most enjoyable experiences was the stay at the houseboat.

When you step onto the houseboat it's like stepping into an Edwardian time warp - fantastic carved walnut furniture (especially the dinning table) wood panelled rooms. We even had personal use of their small Shikara to have a paddle at sunset and sunrise - Perfect

We had a great holiday completed by a wonderful stay in a beautiful Kolu boathouse. The stationary boathouse is parked on the opposite of the river, a good breakaway from the hustle and bustle of the town. The boathouse is reachable only by Shikara which a small boat rowed by man. We have sat for hours in the balcony mesmerised by the beautiful scenery. The big living hall and the 3 bedrooms are lavishly furnished in Kashmirian style, very unique indeed! We stayed in the second room which has a queen size bed and 1 single bed complete with a clean attached bathroom. There is a friendly and helpful butler to serves us and the foods are simply delicious. Many thank to Mr Hilal, Mr Nazir and all the staff for giving us a memorable and wonderful stay. Thanks again.
