Positive points: Spacious rooms, tasty food. Negative points: too many. Read below. We checked in this property for a one night stay. When we came there in the evening, we were told that some other guests were occupying our two rooms. These guests were unceremoniously packed and sent to another guesthouse. We were given their rooms with no cleaning (even the bedsheets were not changed). The rooms were no doubt spacious. But thats it to the positive feelings. One of the rooms had a no latch from inside (so when you sleep, you have no clue who might get in), one of them had no lock from outside (when you step out, you have no clue who might sneak in). Later we realized that these issues are far too small from what was in store. The rooms have fairly big enough holes all around -- you can see what's happening in the neighboring bathrooms and bedrooms! And people walking outside the room can see what you are doing inside! The rooms were stuffy, unclean and the bed sheets looked unhygienic. The room lacked basic amenities -- no heating, no hot water to bath, and after a while there was no water in the bathrooms. If anyone was walking anywhere in the houseboat you can feel drum like sounds on your heads. Don't get confused with the pictures of the houseboat that show phones in the rooms. The phones are there for decoration purpose only. They have no connection! Dining: The clothes on the dining table were dirty were full of food from prior use. One positive point -- the food though was very oily, tasted good. After someone finishes eating, the houseboat staff don't bother to clean the place, they just take out the used plates and put in new plates. Worst part -- the houseboat does not have a proper sewage system; the toilet opens directly to the Dal Lake. If you look through the toilet window, you can see your excreta floating next to your boat!! Such houseboats should be actually closed, but in the least people should avoid these for both personal and global hygiene.
