Having traveled many places, somehow my mind was stuck to visit the Sunderbans and when this resort came into the picture, we did not hesitate for a moment. Mr. Roy was more than helpful in organizing our trip and as what some of the previous travellers have already explained, the Manager, Mr. Sudeb was really a very helpful person. Needless to mention that having a leader like Sudeb all the personnel, specially to name Bhakta Mondal was always attending to us with a smiling face be it at 5AM or even at 10PM. The arrangement for Steamers and Guide was wonderfully handled by Sudeb and also very professionally. The beautiful evening with Baul Singers made the stay even a grandeur. Though our stay was perfect, the meals were exactly to our pallet, the rooms cleaned daily with linens and towels changed, I still have a few suggestions for the owners 1. I was not offered the suite, even to see, for reasons unknown to me. Felt that the rooms were rather small and had it been slightly bigger the stay would have been more comfortable 2. No access to the TV. Since no News Paper atleast a peek at the news channel would have added colour to our stay 3. Would highly appreciate if a clock can be placed in the rooms as at times specially at nights a clock would help immensely 4. Certain rooms should have geysers installed as lot of people use warm water for bath and other things. All bathrooms should have proper exhaust systems installed. 5. A phone or atleast a bell to call the attendants as all the time it is not possible to call over phone. 6. Since mobile connections are unstable, WIFI connection at a cost can be provided to such customers who is agreeable to pay extra. 7. A proper closet with a bigger cloth hanging space should be in every room for the comfort of the guests. 8. For a little luxury of guests a small Fridge would be highly appreciable. Thanks to Mr. T.K. Roy once again, and hope that can visit this wonderful place again in the future to enjoy the immense beauty of Sunderbans.

Royal Sunderban Wild Resort, truly a place where we enjoyed our stay with family. Rooms were neat and clean and well maintained. People are very warm and well behaved. Foods are delicious. And we liked most their attitude to serve with smile and always at your service approach. Our river safari nicely organized with good and knowledgeable guide along with once again fantastic food on boat. Though there are areas to improve from room interior to garden & landscape, I am sure Mr. Roy would know better to take it up. we are for sure to come up once again to visit the resort....

We have stayed here for one night, accomodation was a part of the Sundarban tour package. The place is nice and clean. Rooms are very simple but cosy. The chef was absolutely amazing. All the food was fantastic. The trip to the Sundarban wild forest was well organized. The guide was very knowledgeable. We didt see any wild tiger but we have seen other mamals and birds. The nature is absolut beauty.

If you have a weekend to spare, and are planning to visit a place not far from the bustle of the city and yet nestled in the lap of nature, Jharkhali is the place to be. How to Reach : The resort offers packages, which cover everything including pick up from and drop at kolkata. For details visit their official website, and get in touch with their kolkata office. We, however, booked a private car from kolkata. We took the route via Kamalgaji flyover, Baruipur Bypass and then via Canning onto Basanti Highway. The Bridge over Matla has made Jharkhali very easily accessible. We travelled from Garia, and it took us just about 2 hours 40 mins to reach the resort. Rooms : We visited during the extended weekend of Holi. The resort was packed. We took a four bedded AC deluxe suite, which is in the ground floor of a two storey building at one end of the property. Most of the rooms, however, are in the form of very picturesque and artistic cottages, each with a beautiful name. Coming to the suite, it is not exactly spacious. We expected a little more space considering the cost of stay. It is modestly furnished, clean, well maintained with the windows offering a view of the paddy fields beyond the campus. The verandah is common, shared by another room adjoining the suite. Privacy is an issue. A family occupying the adjoining room quarrelled for almost half the day, and the noise was very disturbing. Food : Food is mid range, we would say.You might consider it costly, but taking into account the quality, and the preparation, which they are offering at a place like this, where homely food of your choice is hard to find, we would not call it overpriced. The staff mixed up a couple of times while taking the orders. That apart, the food was very good.Homely, less spicy. They serve freshly caught fish, crab, prawn, desi murgi, besides fresh vegetables etc. Service : They try their best, that is all we have to stay. To do : The manager can arrange a van for you for a local tour. There is a Tiger Rescue Camp near the ghat, where two tigers are currently kept and are undergoing treatment. We saw one, probably the male. There is a butterfly garden in the same campus, and a mangrove cultivation site. The entry fee is 30 rs per head. We were charged Rs 160 for a to and fro van trip from the ghat. We loved the ghat which looks onto the herobhanga river, that connects Matla on one side to Bidyadhari on the other, and the lush green mangroves beyond. You can book an all day Boat trip(8 hours) to Dobanki, Sajnekhali and Sudhanyakhali.Prices will differ based on what kind of boat you are taking. As for us, beacuse of a slightly rough weather, we booked a boat from the union, went only for a 2 hours boat trip, to and from from panchamukhi. Will Visit again? Definitely. The resort has a lot of potential.Well connected by road, easy to reach, fresh air, good food, and good people, who are trying their best to make your stay comfortable.

Excellent resort for kids and family. Great guest services...which is personalized. My kid was a friend to the hotel staff. Everything is just awesome. Improvement areas: 1. The guide given on tour was sleeping all the way.. Not interested in his job. 2. Paints inside rooms need better maintenance. Ripping off 3. The pond inside the resort can be maintained better. Not maintained currently 4. Quite a few garden lights were not working or were improperly wired resulting in short circuit. Dangerous for kids.
