A former colonial property with loads of character, photographs and memorabilia of a bygone era. The house was the former residence of the British Tax Collector of the region. Although the gardens are somewhat overgrown, one can still visualise what an impressive property it must of been. now run by a member of the Royal Family of Sayla.

Bell Guest House is a commendable place to stay with heritage and vivid imprints of royal era in the region. It is an old structure with a strong fragrance of the yore but has adequate amenities that keep any and every guest up and moving. The rooms, its layout, artefacts, furniture and fixture remind of the glorious past but are in the best condition without any complaint. The dining area is a great place to meet other guests and most importantly the royal family members who dine-in with the guests on request but in most cordial and amicable manner. The food served is delicious and they also serve Gujarati and Kathiawad delicacies on a mere hint. One of the key attractions is the well-maintained lush green open space that houses scores of beautiful peacocks, birds and colossal sized chess board that can keep you, your heart and mind occupied for the whole day. Sayla is an ideal gateway to the rural Gujarat and has several popular places nearby that make you feel that you have entered a new world altogether. There is a wildlife sanctuary, temples and villages that you can visit and the enjoyment is absolute. Meeting patola saree weavers, bead art makers, people from Rabbari community and sipping extra sweet tea from the saucer come as an eye-opener to the lesser-heard culture. The staff members are quite courteous and humble and assist every guest in the best possible fashion. It is an amazing place to relax for days and days together as the time passes by in the wink of an eye. I would love to go back there time and again.

Visit Bell Guesthouse for:- 1) Quiet natural surroundings. 2) The property has many peacocks and we were lucky enough to spot the spectacular dance of 2 peacocks in the early morning hours. 3) The rooms and amenities are basic & neat and the rustic ambiance of a heritage property is pleasing. 4) The food has a home-cooked feel and delicious. 5) The manager & staff are helpful and guided us well for sightseeing nearby-we visited a pathola weavers' home which was lovely. However, we missed the forest walk nearby. On the downside, a few repairs here and there like the huge chess board area in the garden and maybe a few aesthetic additions & better maintenance of the interiors & exteriors is recommended. When we went, the Maharaja and family were not present. This place, however, has amazing serene surroundings and being just off the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway, its a wonder its not crowded with tourists. It makes for an amazing stop for covering the Chotila mandir being just 30 min from the temple. The high point for us was to get to see dancing peacocks in all their glory!

A guest house built for night stay of British officers by Maharaja of Sayla in an absolutely green and quiet area. The rooms are well done. The food is simply great. The Yuvaraj himself takes care of the property and the guest. We stayed there for a night and it was very nice. The approach to the guest house is easy. There are few old monuments worth seen. Excellent for family stay.
