  • Beautiful stay in Thanjavur

    by 202nicholam on

We arrived road weary on a hot afternoon and were greeted immediately by the most wonderful reception and blessings; a divine welcome detox drink, jasmine garlands, anointed with a bindi to ward off bad luck and welcoming words of generous hospitality. The hotel is attractive, quiet, clean and has lovely amenities. The staff were wonderful. The spa excellent. The gift shop well stocked with attractive gifts. The food excellent. Highly recommended

  • A wonderful place to stay

    by harrietcampbell2017 on

We spent two nights here and it was a perfect place to relax and sightsee from. Ffrom the moment you arrive with a bracelet of jasmine flowers put around your wrist it is a treat for the senses. We had fantastic head massages and chilled out by the stunning pool after sightseeing around Tanjore. The food is delicious and so well presented it was the perfect place to be

  • Thanjavur visit

    by Drsugandhi on

Tanjore is famous the world over for it being the birthplace of carnatic music, veena, temple architecture, Tanjore arts etc. Historically it's also been the seat of academics, poetry and debate in the kingdoms of the great Emperors. Much as it created interest in the minds of several elite travellers, lack of a suitable accommodation was a major drawback in visiting and enjoying Tanjore. This lacuna has been set right by Swatma resorts a Relais and Chateaux boutique hotel. A place resplendent with antique decor of the area and with all the modern comforts it's the answer to the prayer.Has a well balanced local menu with Western blends that's melting in the mouth. The service and ambience is very inviting with rejuvenating spa and sound therapy and cultural programmes in the evening. To see foreigners soaking in our culture is an added attraction. All in all,a huge relaxing and mesmerising experience. A must visit place for a couple of days for every discerning traveller

  • Wonderful Stay

    by SourabhChatt on

My wife, daughter and I recently stayed at Svatma and it was wonderful. The property is beautiful, clean, serene, with a lovely spiritual touch to it. You can do Vedic chanting and listen to the most enchanting Veena being played in the evening. The rooms are beautiful, art-deco style. Food is great, I would recommend staying with the Indian options, that is why one goes to South India. Special thanks to Brindha, Balaji, Muthu, Arunthony, and our wonderful driver Sunder. We will be back.

  • Family time and Luxury at its best

    by AshokShankar on

Recently spent 2 nights with my family of 2 adults and 2 children. The traditional welcome they gave was really an experience for all of us - especially the kids. The welcome towel and the drink was refreshing. They showed us to our family room which was big enough to accommodate our family comfortably. The room was modern and the bathroom big too. All of us enjoyed the food. The children liked the vegetarian pizzas. We enjoyed swimming in the pool there. The staff were very helpful. They helped arrange a visit to the traditional bronze casting place where they make traditional bronze sculptures - a must visit for anyone visiting the city. The cooking demo experience was good. The roof top restaurant is beautiful. Everything about the Hotel is amazing. Must visit for anyone planning to stay at a luxury heritage hotel. Will definitely recommend to friends and family

  • The bar is interesting - be clear about the cocktail you want, even if it is on the menu - some translation issues :)
