What's Good: So after lot of planning & finally getting train reservation we headed to Tarkarli :) How To Reach - The best way to reach is by train or by your own vehicle. (Avoid Bumpy Bus Rides) We opted for train though! The station where you have to get down is Kudal (KDL) From here you get auto / Buses to reach tarkarli. We opted for auto as we didnt want to go in those crowded buses. The auto guys charge around Rs. 500 - 600 and trust me its worth it!! The ride is superb with an amazing view. and the autowala here are quite friendly. They will give you lot of info about the places to visit & to eat. The Location - As we reached the resort, the first look was not impressive but trust me ones you roam around you will love the place. The resort has private beach feeling so you can access the beach whenever you want as there are no vendors to irritate you :P The Rooms : The rooms were impressively clean as well as the toilets. The first floor rooms have an amazing view as well as the super delux cottages. They Have tv in all the rooms. No fridge in the rooms. They dont have room service. Food : The food was just delicious. Whatever we had from breakfast to dinner or afternoon snacks everything was delicious. As it was start of monsoon we didnt get variety of fish to taste :( (Do try their chicken thali and Dal Malvani with Jeera Rice as well :) Yummyyy!! ) They serve only beer that too if u tell them in advance. For hard liquor better travel to malvan or carry your own. The resort guys can provide you ice. :P Management: The owners are two brothers who are quite shy though!! We felt they should open up and interact with people to get some ideas!! They are still developing the property and the first floor rooms. Getting Around : You can hire bikes from the resort if you don't have your own vehicle to roam around. (Rates Rs. 350/- day) the resort is situated at a prime location. The malvan city is 4km from here and so the devbag beach. Just remember as tark

What's Good: Very courteous staff and pleasant environment. Food is good especially the Maharashtrian local variety.. must try. Found a very good, reasonable and reliable driver. If you are coming by train from Kudal - contact Sada 9422596575; ENjoy the water sports.

What's Good: The sea-facing rooms offer a great view. Rooms are clean as are the bathrooms. Cooperative staff, ready to help out with taking care of your requests. The guy in-charge of the kitchen serves delicious meals that do not pinch your pocket. Found him quite friendly and for a small price even fried some fish we got from the market.

Enjoyed the stay here. Even our 6 year old daughter enjoyed here.Being a vegeterian i was worried about availability of good veg food, but you should not worry if you are here.Good veg food available here. If you are curd lover you will enjoy the curd here pure and thick.Beach is accessible from the hotel itself. We had taken the ground floor room Room no.101 which had a good balcony facing the sea. Just outside the balcony is a sand area where your kid can have sand play. You can do Scuba here and is recommended. They charge Rs.1000 for it including photo and video shoot. A boat comes to the beach opposite your hotel and ferry you to the scuba point near the fort.

We were total 5 adults and 2 children (aged 10 and 2)stayed here for 2 nights, beach is at walking distance from the resort and that is the only positive thing about this resort, they have a restaurant which is out-sourced food is strictly okay not worth the price we are paying, they were charging Rs. 30 for single glass of milk which we required for our toddler. We had complimentary breakfast included in our package ie only one plate one person of upma/poha/ghavan/bread-omlette of all available options, we liked only ghavan all others were a big let down, so for 2nd day we told them to make only ghavan for us to which the service guy rudely replied that ghavan is not included in complimentary breakfast, and they cant make it specially for us and they will need other orders too, we had a discussion with Mr.Padval who apologized to us on behalf of his staff and assured that our requirement will be met but it seems he was not so serious about it, next day the same server said we didn't make ghavan as we had clarified that its not possible. We have been to many places but I haven't experienced such bad hospitality and service anywhere, Maharashtra tourism has a long long way to go in hospitality in comparison to states like Kerala, Karnataka. Coming to rooms, we had taken sea view rooms, but again only sea-view is good, but bed linen and quilt is average, the cupboard was not having any handles. Overall I wont recommend this property, there are ample of other options at much lesser price and better service.

Sea shore again. I was on a small family trip with my in laws. Took train from Mumbai to Sindhudurg station and asked Bhai Padval (owner of Visava) to arrange vehicle for pick up and it took us 45 mins to reach Resort. Bhai Padval is a nice jolly person, welcomed us and quickly made sure rooms are done, though we were too early as per check in time. He himself took the initiative and pushed the staff to make rooms ready and showed us his property meanwhile and explained the history of place. As per information given to Visava is one of very few resort who provide the direct sea view in Tarkarli. And yes actually you can see the sea from the balcony outside the rooms. Rooms are clean with basic amenities like clean linen, soap and towels in washroom. As soon as you step out on back side of resort you are on beautiful beach with white sand, and breathtaking view of Sea. Being access mainly from resorts nearby the beach is clean. They also offer service for scuba and pick up from resort only. Coming to food, kitchen is out sourced and bit over priced compared to restraunts near by. But food quality and taste is not compromised. Lip smacking sea food (comment from my wife- i am eggeterian) I love the solkadi and had it with every meal. Important point- breakfast is not included in room charges. You have to pay for it separately. Totally recommended in tarkarli. I prefer it over MTDC. Even devbagh also has numerous stay options and it has own beauty of being in middle of backwaters and sea. #happyvacations

We have visited Tarkarli from 3rd to 5th November. Stay at visava beach resort was excellent. We have taken rooms on first floor. You can see sea directly from room. Best point of this resort is it's location - it's exactly on beach. Beach is very clean and private. About restaurant - they serve really good malvani style food. We have tried chicken, fish (pomfert, bangada and surmai). Overall service and food quality for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. They need 30 to 40 minutes to serve fresh food based on your order. One can do scuba diving and these people can pick up from hotel beach. Scuba diving is must do activity here. Water sport can be done at tsunami island. We have gone to dolphin point and seen lot of dolphins. Rock garden is also good sunset point. Overall really good experience at tarkarli.
