Located in main market. Clean rooms & toilet, They will provide you parking space + room heater + geyser + Breakfast & Dinner. They have pure veg restaurant (a very few were there, it was 1 of them). There are very few hotels where you find north Indian food. Hotel manager is also from north India (Rajasthani) and that was good for us on that trip, as he understand what a north-indian wants in dinner. otherwise you'll get only Maggie and Momos everywhere. Tariff are also comparatively cheaper.

We stayed in a room with a double bed and one single bed for 1200 rupees. The room was pretty good in terms of amenities , but the biggest problem is that they have frequent (rather long periods) power cuts. Tawang being super cold, is extremely difficult to manage if you don't have a heater in your room. Though they charge 200 rupees extra per night for the heater, we could barely use the heater from 11pm to 5am when there was electricity. Though they ended up not charging us for the heater, but I would have rather liked them to have a kerosene heater ( which isn't dependent on electricity). Atleast that ways the room can be heated and they can earn some extra bucks too. Overall, the quality of room and the staff service was pretty good. And they have an in-house restaurant which can serve you food after 8pm (usually the restaurants in Tawang shutdown at 7pm).

The hotel is located in the heart of the town. The management is very good . You will find the atmosphere very calm n composed. The hotel is run by a marwari family . If you are a vegetarian and want a homely food stay there . The owners are very good and are very helpful.

Some hotels have all the amenities and also the location to ther credit, but what Buddha Hotel has is a very hardworking, extremely helpful and always smiling owner/manager, Raju Sharma. ( 9436872954 / 03794-222954). The hotel is situated in Old Market, Tawang and the room rates range from Rs1000 to Rs1500. The hotel is nothing fancy and it has a very steep flight of steps. However, Mr Sharma carried our luggage all the way to our rooms as they have no other help. The hotel is run by him and his wife with help from some of his friends when the demand arises. Rooms are spacious, with half wooden walls, sheets and towels are clean . They however do find it hard to wash and dry the towels in the Tawang weather and I saw his wife ironing the twels and the sheets to dry them. They provide war water for drinking in every room. The family also offers veg food to anyone who is interested. I would go back to this hotel only because of the hospitality of Mr Sharma and his wife.

While making bookings for our trip the name of this hotel kept cropping up everywhere on the net among the good hotels in Tawang. Even the official govt. website mentions its name so we went ahead and made the advance payments after a telephonic conversation with the manger. When we reached in front of the hotel after a long hard days tiring drive, the tiredness clinged our heads too. The hotel is most poorly located with no view of the landscape from anywhere in the hotel. The rooms were damp with dim lights with non-effective electric room heaters. The hot water gysers were not in order or may be outdated and one had to wait for ages to get even a bit warm water from it. The room service lacked efficiency. The manager turned out to be non-cooperative on most issues. The rates so charged were exorbitant compared to the facilities and service offered. The only positive about this hotel is that it has a pure veg restaurant which serves good food. Also its located in the middle of the old market but that hardly makes a difference. I would say there were many other good options in the town but we didnot shift to anywhere else since we would mostly stay out and not use the hotel services accept at night to sleep and also the advance was non-refundable. There are new hotels coming up but during the season time there is heavy rush and advance booking is a must. Hotel like the 'hotel gakyi khang zhang' is a far better place to get cozy with ideal location and best rates.
