What's Good: The property is beautiful and well looked after. The staff are very courteous and friendly. They put in a lot of effort to make our stay memorable. The food at the restaurant is good but expensive. So eating all meals at the hotel is not feasible. The hotel could consider conduct in-resort activities for guests in the evening as there are very little options to do anything in the evenings.

At first appearance this hotel looked to be a beautiful scene with lovely pool and all separate cottages. On closer inspection you begin to see the cracks. They claim to be green and only provide water that has been filtered and sterilised. Seeing the mediocre hygiene of the bathroom and bedroom, it was safe to call me dubious. Frequent power cuts, ants in the bathroom and a dirty floor leaves me thinking this 4 star hotel would be better described as a 3 star at best.

You pay more than you would for a home stay etc, but this is a very special place, and 100% worth it. Rather than the usual hotel setup, there are individual apartments set into a beautiful, fairly steep landscaped garden. They have an army of staff who carefully attend the grounds as well as adjoining spice and organic vegetable gardens. The staff are cheerful and extremely attentive. They are very proud of their work. Recommended.

I had a brilliant stay here. Such a peaceful place near the town. Great buffet breakfasts and dinners. Really friendly staff and comfortable beds. My room was lovely and cool and had a great view of the gardens.

I've used this hotel for many years with my annual sketching group and always enjoy my visit. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful in every way, especially the restaurant staff. The hotel itself is lovely, small separate cottages set in lush green terraces sloping down to the pool and restaurant. Rooms are immaculate and well designed, and the location is great for walking to the very varied shops a few minutes' walk away. They have a very good Ayurvedic treatment centre, an evening dance performance, excellent and varied food, and a range of activities such as forest trekking and bamboo rafting, although their new system of having to book well in advance for any such activities is a big disadvantage. You also need to be fit to walk up the many steps to the higher rooms on the terraces, but it's good exercise! don't miss the evening Kalari (sacred martial arts performance) just up the road - a spectacular sight and long-standing Kerala tradition..
