We booked a cottage room just because we wanted to be close to the jungle. The cottage itself is very nice with good view but badly in need of maintainance. During our 2 night stay there was rain everyday which made the rain water come inside the room due to leaks in the roof.Water also fell onto the tv so we were scared to switch it on.rooms were not clean with ants everywhere. There were frequent power cuts.Only saving grace was the great view of bisons, deers, wild boars from the room. There are better hotels around book only if budget is a major constraint.Reception not very friendly.

We stayed on the courtyard premises for a couple of hours, for eating and drinking. Very pleasant welcome with great information given by the waiter. Good food. Charming courtyard, very quiet place on the reserve where we could see great variety of animals and plants. Original rooms but only seen from the outsider.

The building is the most interesting thing about this. Very unusual but to my shame I didnt ask about its origins. Looks out over wildlife park and either did claim to have seen some deer and brought us a torch to shine in the field but we missed it. Good accommodation. System for eating was to order from rooms and the go down at agreed time. Food was ok.

Given we were staying for one night, I didn't want to look for a place with a lot of frills even though I was tempted to do so. Also, I realized that we'd be out for most part of the day and have to check out early am the following day, so it didn't make much sense to go fancy. Booking process was direct as I prefer to do so. The person I spoke was conversing with was curt and direct which was OK with me but it did get me to think that I should look for another place instead. Read my review of the Wildernest, Thekkady and you'll know why the alternate place didn't quite as well work out. Anyway. So we arrived, got to our rooms, and the rooms were small, not enough place for three persons in each room, which is how I'd booked it. I decided to look past it given it was a short stay to begin with. The hotel itself looks quaint from outside, and the decor is meant to look like a set up from a more colonial time, which is fine, but the rooms smelt dusty and slightly stale. Perhaps the wood was damp. Or the mesh ventilation screens have gathered a lot of dust and look like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. The hotel overall needs to be overhauled, freshly painted and cleaned up if its looking to win another TripAdvisor award. Supposedly the last one was in 2014. No maintenance post that. Yes, you get part view of the edge of the tiger reserve but the location itself is not in a quiet place. It's located just like most other hotels by the commercial road leading up to the tiger reserve. From outside and from the pictures it will make you believe that you're staying in the best place possible... Sadly not true. Even though I booked two suite rooms, one room looked more plush than the other, with wooden panel detailing behind the bed etc.. The cable TV reception in one room wasn't working but was quickly fixed. Regardless of the rooms the bathrooms werent great. They looked super dated, lighting made it even worse. The hotel didn't even make sure that they bathrooms were cleaned before we checked in. The toilet seat cover has water patterns that looked like someone has just taken a dump before we got there. There were water droplets on the front and the back of the toilet seat! If you know what I mean guys! The bathroom has just one towel rack and a really stained tiny soap rack. There was no shelf or hook to keep your bathing essentials or clothes. So it is highly inconvenient. Even the houseboat I stayed on had better features in the bathroom than what I expected! I still kept quiet. The six of us did. No toiletries were provided, another inconvenience. We were still quiet. Then one of us got really impatient with the poor quality of the wifi. It had been three hours plus of real spotty Wi-Fi with the connection constantly going off. To this the manager actually had the gumption to say that it's the iPhone that's the issue and not the Wi-Fi and that we should consider BUYING A NEW PHONE! There ended up being a brief verbal dispute and the supposed "manager" walked away in a huff. Someone has got to reach the guy that he's in the service industry! The extra beds and towels were reluctantly placed in our rooms even as the manager could very well see that three adults would not fit on the bed. I mean we did pay for the extra person charge so typically you would expect to see the extra bed placed without a hesitation. The only saving grace for the hotel is Mr Sudish who was kind enough to ask about our breakfast requirements and arranged it for us at 7 am., an hour before their actual serving time. And that morning albeit the most simple breakfast it was the one that made us most happy. We had nice strong cups of tea with beautifully made appams and kadala curry. It was purely due to this man's hospitality that we didn't give the manager feedback that would've been crudely given direct right to his face. We were just too tired to make a scene or demand better service for the money paid but I did vow that I would leave as honest and clear a review because I really do not think that the 4/5 TripAdvisor ratings are justified. Not one bit. Overall, bad manager and client service left a bad taste in our mouth. That coupled with dated bedrooms and really unkempt bathrooms doesnt excite me to repeat my stay or recommend this place to anyone. We were so glad to leave the place that we were out by 8 am! Save for Mr Sudish. Thank you again for going out of your way to take care of us. P. S: don't believe the pictures of the hotel /rooms

Deluxe room on the second floor had no phone connection. Bigest room is insufficient to accomodate 3. Owner was not co-operative initially but after paying the commission of the agent was ready for cancellation. Breakfast served was very ordinary! If at all anybody wants to stay here choose the room at the back with forest view. Rooms booked with the help of these agents is along the road side!
