What's Good: Restaurant
What needs to improve : Rooms are small, had a foul smelling in corridor n balcony, no hot water available 24/7.
Reason For Rating : The duplex rooms downstairs had a very bad smell, it was located close to a drainage, we had mosquitoes in room D7. The only saver was the food of the restaurant which was really good.

What's Good: Hotel is in Thekkady town. Its village type aesthetic look is quiet impressive.
What needs to improve : Cleanliness of the room and improper ventilation
Reason For Rating : Hotel is as per old style. Though village type look is attractive from outside, little modernization is required in the room.

What's Good: Location, security, staff behaviour
What needs to improve : Cottage room is not as expected.. Only one plug point is available in the room and in that we have to use mosquito killer, Got hot water only for 15 mins which is one of the worst thing.. Can hear people talking from the nearest bedroom/cottage..

What's Good: It would have been good if there was an Television available in the room. Otherwise, stay was good. Clean room. Food was also good. Price of food was high but compared to outside restaurants, it was good. Very close to Tiger reserver. Just 800mts i believe..

We stayed in duplex room. There is only actually one room divided into two up n down with a narrow wooden staircase. Room was smelly n damp. Bathroom was just ok type. Flooring was marble due to which room became colder. Room had back side view which is not great just small amount of green patch. Breakfast was the worst part in our stay . We had to eat sweet bread with omelet that to without salt. As if they dont know how to cook food for breakfast. We asked for dosa or idling as we r in south we want to taste there food they just said one word a big NO. The dinner was ok ok type we had aalo paratha as looking to there preparations for food which us not great. But for dinner u can go for. Just the outer look of hotel is five star the inner look of rooms r just below one star. According to my experience. In all I didn't enjoyed my stay atall. Staff were rude type as splly in restaurant.the had mosquito n lizard.

We stayed here for three nights in December 2017 with our four kids. The stay started out nightmarish with a small car picking us up as at the airport, imagine a family of six+luggage sqeezed in a small Duster for an almost five hour drive from Kochin in the middle of the night. Well, we kinda survived the hellish car trip. At the hotel a not so friendly man (he was probably sleeping by time we arrived) showed us to the rooms, and left us quick in two dirty rooms, one also reeking of urine and a water dripping toilet AND with four beds in stead of six that I had booked. That first night I "slept" on a wooden couch with a towel as blanket, as there was no one in the reception to find and talk to. In the morning I finally got to talk to the manager. He was all friendly and understanding, and as I threatened to check out he got us two better and bigger rooms in another, newer, part of the hotels. They too were quite dirty so I had them clean them again before we settled in. Then it was ok. Though the monkeys woke us up at sunrise and the walls were so thin you could hear everything from the room next door. The manager handled our situation excellent, giving us discount for the first disastrous night and promising us a big car for the return to Cochin. The cleaning was so and so, I saw only men working in the hotel, not very fast or efficient, not even friendly. Had it not been for the service minded manager, the stay as a whole would have been bad, but he was the only one service minded and friendly, and handled the situation well so that in the end it was an ok stay.

We didn't stay in the hotel, but ate lunch here three times during our stay in Kumily. Food and service were excellent throughout. Try ginger chicken, chicken 65 or any of the vegetable dishes. Highly recommended.

We have been to this resort in the month of June and this is an excellent property next to Periyar tiger reserve that makes you feel relaxed and connected to the nature. We saw Nilgiri langur and porcupine at night near the hotel gate.We would highly recommend this hotel for Nature lovers.
