I stayed with Wife and Kids and we had a great time at the hotel. The location is strategic to shops/Main Street as well as to the Reserve. We stayed in a cottage. It was clean and comparable to most 3 star metro hotels. The kids just loved the pool and spent all 3 days immersed in it. Water a tad cool for May. There is also a game room with foozball/carrom/chess/TT/Gym. I almost got the feel that I was staying within the forest itself. Obliging staff, courteous and nice without being overwhelmingly servile. Breakfast spread was ample though I would say short on Bacon or potatoes (if someone wants it). But there are enough Indian dishes to keep the stomach filled. Other meals (lunch and dinner) was a different story. Quite average to my taste. Also there was no Driver accommodation if someone is travelling by chauffeured transport. But I think it was a very pleasant stay overall and would visit again if I get a chance.

We stayed here for two nights in May and this was the only bad experience of my overall excellent Kerala trip. The location is excellent (close to Periyar nature reserve information and pickup point as well as city market), food was good and staff was very friendly and helpful - but the main thing - the room was average with poor lighting. We stayed there for two nights and they did not clean the room on the second day. The bathroom was not clean and one of taps was not working. When we complained, they made some make-shift arrangement. The room was quite spacious but with below average interiors. It was sold as a 3 star hotel and the other 3 star hotels that we experienced in other cities in Kerala looked 5 stars compared to this. I would rather go for a nice home stay than a hotel like this.

Check in was smooth and the staff were friendly. We were escorted up to our rooms. Room and toilet were spacious and clean. As this hotel has lots of trees and is among nature, the staff also showed us how to operate the repellent in the rooms. We saw many monkeys within the hotel compound climbing and playing happily. However, they do not seem to disturb the guests. Do note that the hotel has slight slopes and steps going to the rooms and to the reception/restaurant. For those with mobility problems, you might want to take note of this and also request for ground floor rooms. We had used their laundry service and clothes were delivered at the time promised. We enjoyed their breakfast and variety of options provided. Staff manning the restaurant were attentive.Once you walk out of the hotel, there is a long stretch nearby of cafes and shops. There is also an atm nearby. We enjoyed our daily walks around the area and the safari cruise location is also nearby.

The reservation was made by one of our close-knit motorcycling group, the 'Band of Brothers'. Reached the property with no expectations; knew that it had a pool, that was about it. Was going to be a place to sleep over, after our ride; start back the next day. Happy to say that we were very pleasantly surprised with the property, and the facilities. The whole place is kept remarkably clean and tidy, the rooms and the the facilities which include a very nice pool - kept really clean, well kept showers , clean, fresh towels; and a nicely sorted activity space - a well equipped gym, table tennis, table football, caroms and chess. There's a small but interesting collection of books as well, for the literary sort. Service is excellent, and unobtrusive. And food. We had just one meal, breakfast. Was very well done; simple fare, cooked to perfection. A decent menu. Rooms, large enough and comfortably designed; nice flooring, specifically. Are cool, even at this time, peak of summer. Air conditioners are not needed. And again, the bathrooms on the property are worth a special mention; immaculately kept. Goes for the ones in the common areas as well. Is well located, the entrance to the Periyar Tiger Reserve is a stone's throw away. A bar would be a very welcome addition ! Summing up, great place; definitely worth a visit, and repeats !
