Sadly only two nights here - but we were very happy we had those! The bed was the most comfortable we slept in the entire trip to India. Stunning bathroom - with a view down the valley! Pre-dinner aperitifs on our balcony... We had dinner both nights at the restaurant as we didn't fancy heading back down to Kumily for a meal. We may have been the only ones there - but the food and service were terrific! Small request - maybe some Indian music in the restaurant? The spa was great, peaceful treatment room - the best massage (of 3) I had in India!

A perfect place to recharge yourself and be one with nature. My wife and I along with my elderly parents & my two years old toddler went to Hills and Hues for 2night stay and were mesmerized by the beauty of nature and warmth of the staff. The rooms were extremely spacious with modern amenities & cozy private balcony where mostly the time is spent. The food fresh and delicious, cater all taste buds.To make a special mention for the dishes fish moilee and kozhi toran, they were delectable. All in all amazing stay at Hills and Hues,we do hope to be there again sometime soon.

two couples had one night here in rooms 5 and 6. There are 6 rooms. The restaurant has a menu and a specials board. Fantastic rooms made so by the views - in and through tree tops as it is on a very steep slope. It is at the top of a hill with a fairly tortuous access road up from Periyar - probably 10 - 15 mins away by car. Close but rather isolated - nowhere to walk from the hotel. Small ground but fantastically clean and groomed. They are building more rooms and a pool right now - so ready for next year. Lovely staff. We wished we had stayed another night/day due to the views. Rooms have big picture windows looking over and through the trees - even in the bathroom. You ccan sit on the toilet and look out! Odd but enjoyable. Comfy bed. Small playground for children. Food was very good - staff a little over-attentive for me eg offering to pour the water. Overall this is well worth a stay.

Stayed here as two nights as part of our trip to Southern India. Room very nice, stylish and comfortable with spectacular view out over the valley. Room seemed very private (currently only 6 rooms) with its own balcony. Large comfortable bed, bathroom very stylish with walk in shower. Food good, although limited menu. As the hotel is on the south side of the valley the room and balcony did not get any sun which was a shame and did mean it was cooler than expected (luckily I'd taken a couple of pashmina with me).

Travelled with a group of friends in a bus meant that we had to be transported the last 5 minute drive up hill to the hotel by Jeep. This was a little bit bumpy, but when we arrived it was well worth the ride. It was rainy and the staff met us with umbrellas. They were very attentive throughout our stay. The 6 rooms are all beautiful. They are in 3 separate small cottage buildings built on the edge of a very steep hill. The views are stunning, and can be seen even from the toilet! The food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent too. Only fault is that the WiFi is not great, it comes and goes. Highly recommend a visit to Hills and Hues if you are in or near Thekkady.
