Me and my Mum had an amazing stay here. The host was lovely and incredibly welcoming, the food was delicious and the location ideal. Couldn't recommended moonsoon retreats highly enough, if you are planning on going to Thekaddy you must stay here.

This is a lovely place very close to the Periyar tiger reserve. We stayed here on Christmas Eve so the area was extremely busy but this place was serene. The rooms are on stilts, surrounded by the jungle, with their own veranda and are comfortable. The hosts are great and arranged a walk around the tiger reserve with a local guide for us which was very interesting. No tigers unfortunately (quite normal, they are rare and shy) but lots of cheeky monkeys and amazing birds/butterflies/spiders and spice plants/trees. The accommodation is 250m walk from Elephant Junction where you can ride, wash and get a shower from an elephant for about 5. Includes free cup of tea! The food was also great - lots of chicken curry and dal.

Really lovely experience - the host was accommodating and friendly, the location serene and beautiful and our breakfast simply delicious. We definitely recommend for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat from the noise of city living. There are also many unique and colourful birds to be sighted in the tree tops.
