I had the most incredible stay at Monsoon, waking up among the treetops in a gorgeous jungle with birds singing. I'd always wanted to stay in a treehouse since I was a kid, so this was a bucket list stay for sure. The owner Subish is a generous and friendly host, showing me all the spice plants and fruit trees that encompass the resort--cardamom, ginger, figs, you name it! He and his family served me a delicious breakfast and fresh coffee made from their own coffee they grow on site! Subish is actually a wildlife conservationist who started Monsoon for locals and tourists alike to cultivate an appreciation for nature and learn about eco friendly practices. I can't wait to visit again on my next trip to beautiful Kerala!

It was a awsome feeling to stay there. The environment of the area was so beautiful, surrounded by nature. And the behaviour of the host was so decent. I will never forget the place. Accomodation is well and neat n tidy. The homemade food was so delicious.

This unusual hotel is eco friendly with bungalows raised about 4 metres off the ground. They are simply furnished but quite sufficient. There are about 6 units set in a tropical forest with many different varieties of plants, about 85 if l remember. The owner is a forestry specialist who is passionate about his project. You eat in a central point and the owner's mother, who is a lovely person, prepares all the meals with a helper and they are good south Indian dishes. It is an imaginative project and every visitor helps it to succeed. Make sure that you get the directions from them as Google takes you down impossible roads which leave you 150 metres from your destination! Some simple maintenance on the bungalows needs to be regularly carried out to maintain standards.

Monsoon Retreats is situated in the midst of cardamom plantation, surrounded by huge Jackfruit trees and birds. Beautifully placed tree House surrounded by greenery. There is a life around the place. The host was extremely friendly and he pretty much accepted to all our tailored made needs without any fuss. Breakfast was very good. Recommend without hesitation !

A home away from home amidst serene nature - is the beauty of Monsoon Retreats Ecostay at Thekkady. Beautifully placed tree House concept cottages surrounded by natural greenery where you feel so close and blended with nature. Have been here during October with family and felt privileged to meet the owner - Sh Subish who was so cordial and helpful. The warmth of his hospitality and the enriching discussions we had about the ecosystem in particular over dinner with Sh Subish is something we will fondly remember always. The tree house cottages are excellently designed, conceived and very neat and clean. Here you wake up in the morning with chirping birds and every minute of your stay here unfolds some mystic bird, crickets etc noises which justifies the "Eco Stay" concept. Not to mention the personified care and attention which flows naturally from Sh Subish (owner) and excellently cooked food from his kitchen ( which is managed by Sh Subish's mother). A must stay place in Thekkady if one likes to blend closely with nature. Thank you Sh Subish for making us feel special and setting up this wonderful little green space of yours.
