This was simply a great experience - we had never tried home stay and if this is the standard we would like to go for it instead of hotel. Booked thru MMT & In reviews travelers has mentioned about Justin and chitra and we had similar experience with the lovely couple and felt the warmth they radiate as a true host., Nanu, their little boy was of added attraction. They made us feel at home and by joining us in the breakfast he brought out the true flavor of homeliness which I think is the crucial concept of home stay The facilities are exactly as per pictures published in the site - Cleanliness was second to none with exceptional housekeeping ,nice comfortable bed, spacious room and a wonderful balcony to sit out. All necessary assistance was provided promptly with a smile. Wifi was good and functional Walking distance to elephants camp, bus to the Tiger Reserve and the town. Many nice restaurants nearby too Breakfast is lovely and of sufficient quantity - missed out a authentic Kerala style dinner A bit of problem faced due to non functioning of toilet light (chitra promptly provided an emergency portable lamp ) and warm water but i am sure its being taken care quickly. While asked for tea coffee arrangement in the room ,it was known that due to excessive misuse by guests they were forced to withdraw this..But it would have been better if you need a early morning tea in the terrace as kitchen starts a bit late. We should have asked for it and justin might consider it as a value addition ! Highly recommended to solo travelers, couples and even for families if you are looking for a great value for money accommodation in Thekkady.

Our family of 4 members stayed at Periyar Woods for 2 days. It is a superb home stay but we felt it as our own home at Kumily. Host Justin and his wife are really too friendly and always ready to help you . We really enjoyed their breakfast with variety of options. Rooms are clean and neat. Toilets are spacious and clean. Our special thanks to Jophy who took us for jungle safari in his 4 wheel drive jeep. Jophy too very sincere and we recommend him for your local trips. Overall highly satisfactory experience, surely will come back.

This is a well-run Homestay that deserves its enviable reputation. The hosts are friendly and accommodating, the meals delicious (breakfast included, dinner by request, the rooms spacious, the balcony wide and the staircases large enough for you to pack two suitcases in each arm without a problem.

One star for this hotel is much higher. Worst hotel it is. No room service, no intercom, no kitchen and rooms are full with spiders, insects, lezerts, Kokroches, Breakfast they arrange from some where else. Look like this as a Dharamshala not hotel.

I am pleased to have spent a night in such a great homestay with a very good host Mr Justine. I stayed in a triple room which also had a amazing balcony which I didn't find in any other homestay/hotel during my trip to Kerala. Breakfast was awesome.
