Its a Eco friendly resort. They have extremely maintained the natural ambience even in the paper used. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly. I never saw a staff without a smile, really loved it. Service is excellent. There are multiple activities to choose from through out the day. Food was an absolute treat. Glass bottled water is another good thing about here. You have everything for a resort from swimming pool, spa, bar, billiards table, tennis court, natural walk etc., If you are looking for a relaxing beautiful resort with wonderful people and food, then this is the right place. Highly recommendable

We arrived on 18th September 2018. Not long after the disastrous floods. All back to normal. So glad we came. Wonderful temperature 30 deg. Wonderful echo friendly hotel. We stayed in one of the thatched cottages. Excellent. Great staff. Great food. Thoroughly recommend it.

As the first guests after Keralas recent floods, we were given a tremendous welcome by the staff team. Every special request was willingly met, including 'hot water bottles', for which we were exceptionally grateful as the nights were a little cold. It was a tough time for all and we wish to thank everyone for a great stay at such a difficult time. There was so much to learn about the place and we thoroughly enjoyed the cooking demo, the extensive menu and especially the guided tour around the grounds. The tour was both educational and informative, with a great emphasis on sustainability. It included the bar area, filled with historic artefacts, photos and other mementoes of the place before the Spice Village was built on the site of a significant property. Hugely interesting. Yoga in the morning was an added bonus, though the standard was quite high. And it should also be mentioned that the shopping in Thekkady for Keralan products and fabrics was the best of our whole trip. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here as a great centre. Every best wish to the team for the forthcoming season.

A large sprawling, relaxed kind of place on a gentle slope with chalet type rooms in a garden setting. The room / chalet was spacious, clean and comfortable and as is frequently the case in hotels worldwide the architect / designer only seemed to allow a clear surface for one piece of baggage hence you always need to clear the surface that inevitably has the oversize TV on it that we never watch on holiday anyway. The food was excellent - when is it not in India - with chapatti, roti and dhosa cooked to order. This place is good for massages so go for the longest you can afford! You'll need to book in if the hotel is busy. There's quite a nice little shop and it sells some nice local items along with a range of interesting books. I bought two; one on Keralan cookery and the other Indian herbs and spices neither of which I had at home. The cookbook has a recipe for a Keralan plantain curry that we ate locally on a home visit and is really to die for! The place also runs yoga sessions in the mornings. Some of the posture descriptions difficult to follow if you are not a practitioner. The morning we checked out, there was some particularly pleasant incense burning in reception. When I asked them what it was and if they sold it in the shop they said they got it from outside the village and gave me what was left as a gift. It was a mix of black frankincense which I've been trying to find ever since. This is just a general comment on a lot of Indian hotels and not particularly here - remember to order your breads before you sit down and just ask them to keep coming otherwise you'll have eaten before they arrive or you'll wait till your food had gone cold.... maybe the Indians don't realise that some of us prefer breads to rice with our food.

The ECO ethic is well and truly embedded and the staff are totally committed to it. They are rightly proud of their environment and look after the wildlife and flora/fauna with dedication and care. This extends to their guests. They were always asking if we were happy and were at pains to make us comfortable. We were there during the dreadful floods the area suffered and the diligence they took to ensuring our safety and well-being was beyond compare. I will definitely return one day and I thoroughly recommend this hotel.
