    Excellent!

What's Good: Value for the money, smiling staff, high speed internet, best bed, best food.

What needs to improve : Hotel didn't tell well about the attractions, time spent in traveling, extremely bumpy ride in jeep, how much it would cost. Suggestion to hotel: Prepare a detailed booklet on attractions.

Reason For Rating : Warmest welcome, smiling staff, best room, bed.

  • Very average

    by John M on

Not much I can say beyond this hotel is totally average. Average room, average food, average everything apart from the staff who were above average. A hotel that seems to cater very much for large groups which made it fairly anonymous and with little character. Definitely not a 5 star hotel.

  • What a great hotel

    by lyn h on

We were here for 2 nights. Staff very helpful at check in. Room was great lots of space and a nice verandah. Staff at the restaurant very helpful and food was great. There was a lovely pool with lots of seating around it. The afternoon teas at the poolside just great.

  • Not up to standard

    by Bill_Pomeroy on

Sorry to have to give a poor review but this hotel is NOT 5 star standard as listed. Staff and management are polite and helpful. So this review is NOT aimed at them. Dont be fooled by the grand entrance area and reception. Downhill from there on... first and worst of all was our bathroom - grubby, in need of a refurb and I kid you not- had all the appearances of a 70s youth hostel when I travelled as a backpacker. Grubby curtain draped in the bath for showering. Walls painted a ghastly ochre colour, very depressing. My first sighting of the water in the loo was dark brown, so I thought maybe the previous guest had not flushed.... actually when we ran the bath the truth came out - dirty brown water running out of the tap!! Towels threadbare and seen better days. Disgusting. The room was ok, with a nice balcony. The kettle did not work. Partners bedside light did not work. Two electric sockets in the room did not function. Horrible cheap rock hard mattress. We opted for the buffet dinner - food looked good but was not kept warm so everything cold. Nothing worse than a lukewarm biryani. The shashlik kebabs were freshly cooked at the counter and were good. I was put off walking through the dining room an hour before dinner to see all the salads and snacks displayed without any covering- and flies in the room... We checked out two nights earlier than we booked for and moved to another hotel. We did not feel it fair to request a refund but they did let us off the dinner charge as goodwill. Staff were clearly upset by us leaving, but its not their fault and this review is not aimed at them. The manager was extremely polite and understanding. To the hotels credit they are going through a period of refurbishment and he showed us their first new room which was spectacular. At the moment I cannot recommend this hotel, maybe things will be better in a year or so. The pool also needs freshening up - it has a dirty green colour to it and looks very uninviting. They need to downgrade to 3 star and build from there. Having said all this, it is cheap to stay there which makes you wonder why a 5 star hotel is so cheap- beware, you have been warned
