No other better hotel in Thirukovilur in my opinion. Rooms are OK but requires pest control measures. Beware of cockroaches. There's a manager not at the front desk but he was mostly available in the car park chatting with someone. Lift was not in a working condition.

few comments made us wonder if its the right choice or not but after looking at their rooms i would not step out to any other rooms in TIRUKOVIKUR andstaying in tiruvannamalai would have cost me more and transit time would be also considered .., and i also had a chance to have a chat with the owner who was in their for a routine visit and gave him few suggestions and he said he shall try doing it with a kind smile ....., in short i can say the best place to stay for temple visit as its safe , peaceful and pollution free

The place stinked of cigaratte smoke and there is a bad cigaratte smell all through the corridors and the room. We could not just stay there and we vacated in couple of hours and went to another place in pondicherry. Bachelors probabaly can manage it but family can not stay as it is very secluded place and kind of little scary. However the food at the restaurant is quite fine and you will get the feel of eating home cooked food. Even though when I booked I got the info that it has free wifi but nothing like that existed

Nice hotel, new complex, clean rooms. Stayed in A/C room, it worked well. Has a geyser in bathroom, so hot water available always. Bathroom was clean, they just provided towel.Staff is not trained well, do not expect much from them. Stayed here for just one night as i was visiting temple. It has a restaurant in same complex, it is just an average restaurant. In summary, ok for a short stay.

First the good parts - the owners have invested quite a bit in this hotel infrastructure in this small town. They have tried to provide normally expected modern comforts. The beds were covered with white clean sheets. Same with the pillows. It is located about 4 kms from the ancient & famous ulagandha perumal temple in Tirukoilur. The location of the hotel is rural setting amongst farm fields. So the air is clean and the views nice. Where they failed is in maintenance and hospitality training of their staff. (1) I had booked online giving an advance as required. The online booking is well managed. But at check in, the counter guy asked me to pay full room rent. I told him that it is always at check out; which he then agreed. (2) As it was hot outside and my very elderly parents were with me, I was very particular that there should be continuous power, with the AC and lift working (since the rooms are in the higher floors only). The owner told me that he did not expect the government supplied power supply to be interrupted. But I was not convinced, since power does go off in India in many locations. So I wanted an assurance that the generator would work for AC and lift. He told me that the generator was very large for the entire hotel but since only 2 or 3 rooms are occupied currently, the power generator would trip if it was started!! In other words, I was left to be tense during the stay, fearing potential power failure, despite a generator being there. (3) The rooms are decently sized. But the bathroom floor is elevated - about 4 to six inches higher; so could be tricky for very senior citizens. (4) I was given extra bed sheets when asked but some were torn in places. (5) The AC plug socket in my parents room had a loose contact. (6) The curtain in my room would fall down along with its rod, when the curtain was moved! The rod fitting was done badly. (7) The toilets, the toilet seat and wash basin, etc. were poorly maintained and the old stains had not been removed. The staff were obviously not sensitized to the need to provide stain free toilets. I found water streaming in front of the toilet bowl. I thought the toilet was leaking!. It turned out to be a water outlet from the adjoining room air conditioner releasing water in my bathroom. Quite unsettling at first! (8) The restaurant in the ground floor left much much to be desired regarding the hygiene levels and food taste. The waiter boy dropped food on the floor while serving us and did not bother to clean up at any time.
