Chandra Niwas is a amazing place to stay in the udaipur with beautiful surroundings and a calm atmosphere. It's outside of the touristy area and gives you a feeling that you are staying in your own home just in a different city. I was traveling with my friends and being a dog lover was looking for a place where I can also spend some time with the pets and Chandra niwas was just the perfect place for me :) I really enjoyed my time here and I would for sure come to spend more time e with Bhairav, Julie and beautiful old lady Donna. Another thing which I really like about Chandra Niwas is many different chilling areas on the roof top and I really enjoyed the best chai in the town at Samvits place. Thank you once again for lovely time

Me and my husband visited Udaipur in Jan 18. Initially, we chose CHANDRA NIVAS because of its non-proximity to city life. But more was yet to come!! Samvit ji and deepak vaiya were very warm hosts. Since we had a very short stay at Udaipur Samvitji let us know the places that were not to be missed during our small break. Their home was a typical Rajasthani 'customised' one. Starting from the wall hangs to their bed sheets everything carried that perfect of tint of marusthal! we also came to know about Samvitji s effort toward the poor and deprived children of Udaipur. Since we had less time, we could not manage to volunteer him for his efforts. But next time we will ensure that we are able to do the same. keep up the good work!! Our best wishes!!!

Samvit has a beautiful and homely guesthouse. He has three gorgeous dogs, two st Bernards and a Labrador! My partner and I felt very welcomed and relaxed during our stay. We spent time visiting one of the two NGO youth centres set up by Samvit. The children are very bright and are taught basic skills such as washing hands and cleaning. Theres also time for games, education and meditation!

Chandra Niwas is just a fantastic guest house in the suburbs of Udaipur! Samvit is a funky, funny and good-natured person and a wonderful host, who makes you feel most welcome in his guest house. He is a very interesting person, full of conversation and I really enjoyed just to chitchat with him with a delicious chai. He can also give you valuable recommendations, organize different activities and call for tuk-tuk drivers he trusts. If you have the chance you should go and visit together with him his local village education centre. The modern house is located in a quiet residential area on the northern edge of the city, but the city centre can be easily reached within 15 minutes. My accommodation was very comfortable, clean and spacious, with my own bathroom. The house was quite full with other travellers and volunteers from the associated NGO (D.A.A.N. Foundation), and I really enjoyed their company. There is a dining and living room, and the nice terrace invites you to enjoy the quiet, warm evening with a cold beer. If you want you can have delicious home-cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner at the homestay, which I can only highly recommend! I just loved my stay there and I know for sure that I will return to this wonderful and homely place! Thanks Samvit and all the helpers at Chandra Niwas for your wonderful hospitality!

We were met at the railway station by Deepak and Samvit. Samvit then drove us to his family home, Chandra Niwas. This is a modern detached house in a quiet residential area on the edge of the city. Samvit's family live downstairs and rooms upstairs are let out to travellers and volunteers working in Samvit's youth centres. Samvit is doing some really worthwhile work with youths in rural communities and offers people the chance to take a rural tour (charged). The room we had was a large double room with a spacious bathroom. It was very clean. There is an upstairs dining room in which you can eat your meals, but we found that people preferred to eat outside on the terrace. We started our days with a delicious massala omelette and some toast, nicely prepared by Deepak, who would also arrange for lunchtime samosas, evening thalis, beers, taxis, tuktuks (in fact almost anything and always with a smile). Samvit and Deepak do a wonderful job of looking after everyone. There are a few shops and a cash point 5 - 10 minute walk from the street.
