This is a lovely place 4 a perfect evening, perfect sunset viewing, perfect snacking and a perfect selfie :). Even the hustle bustle, there is certain calmness here that is very absorbing. We had fish and chips, green tea and soaked overselves in the chill and thrill of nestled between City Palace and Lake Pichola. We dnt live in the hotel though. just visited the restaurant

Only reason to give two stars for this property is the location directly overlooking the Pichola lake and the exorbitant and fantastic suite. Now let me get to the reasons why I have dropped three stars on this rating: 1) The Welcome - the shoddiest possible greeting ever received at a hotel. As cold and impersonal as it could get. First, there was nobody near the main entrance. We had to fetch someone and walk up to the reception. There we were given the traditional garland and welcome drink - from someone who did not know how to smile or greet. No basic courtesies of asking how we were or how our journey was etc. Instead, we were made to sit and asked to make the rest of the payment for the room! We had traveled by train and then by cab for about 14 hours and first thing we were asked to do was the payment! In no hotel in the world have I seen such behavior. Where were we going to run away without paying them having already made half the payment before? 2) General apathy - We were given no information about the hotel such as where the restaurant is, wifi passwords, nearby attractions etc. Nothing! Of course, there is the internet and general trivia booklets in the room, but for the enormous room fees, utmost basic thing is informing us about the facilities in hotel. We had to go fetch someone when it was time for a meal since the palace is quite big and confusing to find our way around to the restaurant. 3) Tip mongering - Although they don't outright ask for it, it got to a really silly point, the whole tip mongering thing. For every small room service, the staff would hang around and wait and do namaste and generally give puppy looks. I had called room service cos I could not figure out the jacuzzi mechanism and it took the person 30 seconds to show it. After which he hung around for a minute waiting for a tip! Not to mention there was a big wedding group who demanded or got all the attention from the hotel and restaurant staff. Like the other smaller groups in the hotel did not matter! Don't even take other bookings if you cannot give attention to other guests because a large group is there! But of course, that would mean loss of revenue which would be unacceptable! I know this review won't make a difference to the behavior of HRH Hospitality staff working there (thanks for the petty "goodnight chocolates" - that really showed you care!). But man, I needed to get this off my chest! Avoid this place if you can and choose a better place.

We visited this palatial Property, which is the part Of the Main Udaipur Palace and HRH Hotels. The eternal views from the sunset terrace are worth spending the moments and connecting with the nature. The terrace dining is one of its kind and offers the bests of the region.
