This property is located at one of the best possible location, just before Udaipur city (From Ahmedabad/Baroda/Mumbai side) right on the highway. Best suited for travelers who want to spent a night and leave early the next day. - It has got excellent views as it is on a hill slope - Is strictly a budget hotel - Is very quiet - Excellent parking facilities - Barring the rooms, this is a well maintained property - Not suitable for elders or those having problems to walk - the rooms are situated on a hill and one has to climb steep steps to reach the rooms - Rooms are strictly average but are very big in size - Bathrooms are pathetic - Just had tea here and it was good. Can't comment on food - If you reach late at night, you will feel you made a wrong decision as its very dark, very quiet and almost no one in sight - but mornings will bring your smile back - The owner - Matthew is a nice person - They do not accept cards (December 2016) and there is no ATM nearby All in all, this property offers amazing location, views, parking at a very cheap price. It has the potential to be a great place provided rooms and especially bathrooms are upgraded. I stayed for 2 nights - both on my onward and return travel from Pune to Jaipur.

Matts is a really nice play to stay if you are looking fr a resort-style experience outside the hassle of the city. However, staying so far from the establishment has its own cons and Udaipur being such a small city, it is always great to live closer to the attractions

Wonderful place to stay just outside the udaipur city. Very peaceful place to stay for a holiday. Staff is very humble and welcoming. Food is very tasty. Rooms are spacious. The place is stituated on a hill slope with an amazing view. I would strongly recommend the place if you are travelling and wanna stay around udaipur.

This is nice place on Ahmedabad to Udaipur highway NH-8, just before Udaipur on the highway. A good place for eating as food is really good. Rooms are also there and one may use for transit stay on the highway if someone does not have time to enter Udaipur. Place is quite and clean.

Conveniently located on NH8 bye pass on the Ahmedabad side of Udaipur, Matts Hotel is a standalone property and so its surrounded by greenery. It is built on the slope of a hill just off the highway. Although at night it had looked isolated and lonely, in the daylight it turned out to be a cheerful place, pink coloured and with geese in the small pond. A cross between a homely inn and a highway motel. The food is made on order and so is fresh and basic. Pretty good. The tandoor is always hot and working we were told. The rooms are basic and reasonably clean. The non a.c. rooms but they had a musty smell. So we chose the a.c. room. Sheets were clean but we didnt trust the blankets. The room was spacious and not like the typical hotel room antiseptic and standardised. That was a plus point. The bathroom was the weakest link. Although clean, the flush cistern kept overflowing, the seat was broken, the shower head was stuck... I wish they'd paid some attention to maintenance. The staff is friendly and helpful. So if youve driven 700 km from Delhi on the way to Poona (or Bombay), this is a convenient place to take an overnight halt without getting into the city traffic. In short - Nothing fancy. But convenient and (reasonably) clean.
