I've stayed twice at Hibiscus over a period of three years, both occasions I was really pleased to do so. The rooms are spacious & comfortable, the location close to a quiet corner of the lake ( outside of the mosques call to morning prayer, which isn't always the most tuneful ) is really good. Just a few minutes walk to the Udaipur's lakeside centre, but quiet enough to feel that you are in a calm little oasis. The food is basic & unremarkable, but mornings on the terrace roof shanti & delightful. Staff helpful and effective, great spot for single travellers or groups, thoroughly recommend.

We had a lovely time at Hibiscus guest house. I particularly loved the quiet garden, and sitting there for breakfast. The decor was charming. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I found the bed too hard in the first room we were allocated and they moved us to a bigger room at the same price. Because of the hard bed, I didnt sleep too well but I really appreciated the setting. It was also a very quiet and chilled place in a busy city. I havent experienced staying in other parts of Udaipur, but it seemed the best area to stay. And lovely view from the rooftop!

Me and my mother stayed here for a whole week. We really enjoyed the calm stay, sleeping in good beds and having amazing breakfast every morning. We could choose where to sit, either in the garden or up on the rooftop with an fantastic view. The stuff is really friendly and after a while it felt like family. We changed from the new building in the old one though, because the rooms were more comfortable and beautiful. We want to come back here!

We stayed at the guest house for 3 nights. We stayed in the new extension. The rooms were of a very high quality including a superb bathroom. The staff were helpful. The mosque is right next door so be ready for a dawn wake-up call. The house dog - a great dane - is very old and pees in the guest areas. Not very nice when walking in bare feet. Breakfast was fine but evening meals too way to long despite there being no other guests. Tasty food but 1.5 hrs to wait was too long. With a couple of improvements I would stay again.

We stayed at Babu's lovely Guest House over the Diwali period and had such a wonderful stay. Hisbiscus was everything we had hoped for - small, friendly and a family feel of the authentic India. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with good fans+aircon and decorated in a pleasing Rajasthani style - we loved the window seats ! The staff were very friendly, welcoming, extrememly helpful and such nice people. Highlight was always the evening dinner on the roof terrace, with views towards the lake and simply wonderful food freshly cooked and served to please ! The guest house is located in a local neighborhood but well located for all the main tourist sites in Udaipur and there is a fantastic sunset point near the Amet Haveli within a few minutes walk. And Oscar the Great Dane was always around to lift any tired spirits. Our few days at the Hisbiscus were memorable and we look forward to the day when we can return for a longer stay and chill out at this Udaipur oasis ! Our thanks and love to everyone at Hisbiscus.
