    It was a very relaxing and luxurious short break from Delhi with everyone in the hotel very helpful, courteous and polite. As I was there to celebrate a special milestone in the family, all the hotel staff arranged a lovely chocolate cake. Very personalized service buy all staff. Will love to go back there again.

  • One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in!

    There is a good reason this hotel is so highly rated. It really is amazing. Every detail from the beautiful hotel grounds and the amazing suites is perfectly designed. I have stayed in a lot of beautiful hotels during my travels and this is one of the best. The service was impeccable. From the moment I walked into the hotel until the moment I left I felt like a Queen. The staff is available to attend to your every need and many that you didn't even realize you had. I have never been so pampered in my life. The pool is beautiful, the grounds are stunning, the beautiful wildlife they have roaming around are a plus. I received two spa treatments while staying at the hotel and have never been so relaxed. I enjoyed many meals at the restaurant and all were superb. This is the only Oberoi property I have stayed at so I do not know how it compares to the others but it is an absolute gem. If you want the ultimate luxury experience and to be treated like royalty stay here.

    There is a good reason that Udaivilas is rated as the best hotel experience in India .. our Pool villas were divine and royal . Infact , the Oberoi staff treat each guest nothing sort of Royalty . It's Perfect for a special celebration.

    The Oberoi Udai Vilas is truly a jewel of a property amongst the Oberoi Group. Amit Kaul and team are doing a super job exhibiting exceptional warmth in welcoming and taking care of every little aspect personally. Gourmet experiences are also to die for! Must visit and highly recommended

    "Sir, I will take you for the hotel rounds. You will like it", quipped Ayushi, the Management Trainee while opening the door of my room that leads to the courtyard balcony and then to the courtyard. She had escorted me to my room during the check in period. Both of us remembered our interaction at Trident, Jaipur in 2013. That said, my hotel tour never happened. I can only blame myself for the same. One reason is my hectic travel schedule. Second my old age. I was slightly unwell too. That was also a reason. Perhaps this was my only disappointment during my stay at this most opulent and luxurious hotel created as a 21st century palace resort. While Ayushi was escorting me thru the entrance courtyard on arrival, I felt serenity and tranquillity while going past the blue pool. Dramatic marble petals of a giant lily flower seemed to float magically on the surface of the pool at the entrance courtyard. I liked the melon shaped domes that added drama to its idyllic settings. First let me write about the people serving the guests. The service is exclusively personal here - attentive, impeccable and engaging. The In Room Dining service was exemplary. See the pictures. For the benefit of the travelling community I am posting 34 pictures. I will begin from the end. Deba saw me off, she is a graceful person. She has served me two years back at the Oberoi Grand, Kolkata. Chauffeur Amit dropped me to the airport. Amit is very caring and welcoming. Udaya Kumar (this boy from Tamil Nadu has bequeathed the Oberoi culture so well) and Ritesh (prompt and friendly) both from In Room Dining caught my attention. Interacting with Ranit Chakrabarti and Arvind Mishra was an elevating experience. The former is an Executive Housekeeper and the latter is an executive. Both are in Housekeeping. Both have attended my workshops at the Oberoi Grand, Kolkata. Both have met me at Trident, Chennai as well. Both are very guest centric. It was 2012, that I had met both last. Nikita (F&B Service) was very impressive. Deepika from Housekeeping picked up my call on the first ring!! I complimented her in person. See her picture. Ashok Bavaria (very empathic) and Prateek Gulati (both from Front Office) were very helpful. Prashanth Trivedi, Assistant F&B Manager. Commands respect from him team mates. They all like him because he is a good teacher. Executive Chef Vikas and Chef Raguveer Singh (specialises in Rajasthani cuisine) delighted me by their service and readiness to help the guests. My guestroom had indulgent touches aplenty. In short it was sumptuous luxury with elegant designs. It was a super spacious room with sweeping greenery around. The mini bar cabinet in Burma teak was wood black in colour with a resplendent camel bone in lay work. The organza blinds provided privacy. The hand woven sitting area carpet and under bed runner had intricate designs. The three seater sofa had one single seater sofa in blue and khaki chenille pattern. On a credenza stand, stood the artefact. It was a horse. The furniture were made of Burmese real wood. Supremely comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom. I liked the throw quilt with block prints. The outer courtyard had a colourful umbrella. My super spacious suite room had a lovely view of the sweeping greenery. The ultra-luxe interiors are no less impressive in their attention to details. Large bathroom and dressing area. All in distinctive style. The exclusive personal service will thrill the guests. Accommodation was of the finest order. Attentive, engaging service. They know how to engage the guests. They go where the guests lead them. Covetable indulgence indeed. The banister of the circular staircase, near the banquet is donned by a giant mural. Local artists contributed for this antique plastering technique. See my picture. Memorable experience indeed. Exceeded my expectations by many a miles!!!!!

  • Amazing pools and a magical setting

    An incredibly beautiful hotel set in a magical city with breathtaking views from every spot. As with all Oberoi properties, arrival at this hotel is magical. Flowers are thrown from the roof as you walk into the lobby. The lobby offers great views of the lake and you will be whisked to your room upon arrival. We were given to rooms with pool views and access from our rooms. Due to a miscommunication, we thought these would be the rooms with the semi-private pools. The hotel quickly resolved the problem and upgraded us to the rooms we thought we would be staying in. Surprisingly, despite our offer to pay for the upgrade, they put us in the pool room without charging us. We were incredibly grateful that they were able to move us and we impressed by their generosity and strong customer service orientation. The food and restaurants at the hotel were incredible. For breakfast, there was an assortment of mangos of all different varieties. At dinner, the Indian food and Italian cuisine were exceptional. I had one of the most perfectly cooked pastas I've ever had. In terms of dining, their main restaurant has incredible views of the lake and city. I highly recommend at least one meal there during your stay. A sunset boat ride around the lake is also another "must do" activity at the property. I've literally never been happier than seeing the beautiful scenery as we toured around the lake. We then went to dinner at a top-rated restaurant near the hotel and were dropped off and picked up by boat. Relative to other Oberoi properties, we occasionally found the service a bit less personalized and attentive. This was definitely a busier property than the other hotels we visited which may have contributed to our perception of the service. I'd highly recommend staying in a room with a semi-private pool. I'm not sure the rooms alone would be that impressive without the pool and some sort of view. The hotel's main pool is beautiful but feels completely isolated. We'd recommend the spa pool with much better views, but more limited poolside service options. We had a small hiccup getting picked up one night from dinner and had to call the hotel several times to resolve the issue. These experiences aside, it was a magical stay and we will highly recommend the hotel and city to anyone planning a trip to India.

  • Choose a pool room if spending the money to stay here. Some are far away. Choose one closer to the lobby.
