It is best u get in Uttarey in West Sikkim. U have a choice of cottage or rooms in two storey building. A dining in restaurant options also available. Uttarey has great potential for semi rural tourism: trout farm, waterfall, Renting Hillary Bronze Statue park and most popular the trekking base camp for Singalila Mountain range trek

We stayed at the resort on 26th & 27th Oct'15 for 2 nights. The good and bad things are as follows:- BAD: 1) Location: The resort is located inside a valley, and there is no view. 2) Approach road: Terrible. Practically no road. Not suitable to aged and people having back problem. 3) Room: No window, no view. Hot water only on request. GOOD; 1) The resort staff were nice 2) Resort garden was beautiful.

Stayed two nights in this hotel one night each on our onward and return journey for Phoktey Dara trek. Uttarey itself is a remote village in West Sikkim with small market area and some village house. This resort is even more isolated from the market area in extreme close to nature. It has various type of rooms in building as well as in the front side as cottages. Your car can easily drop at the gate of hotel but you can walk to the market area anytime, that would take max 15-20 mins. Rooms are well ventilated, spacious but bathroom space is not enough, you need to position and re-position the bucket for your bath and for opening/closing the door. In one of our rooms geyser was not working, they opened the manager's room's toilet for use. You can find some leeches loitering in the lawn area or stairs, but they won't attack you unless you stand very close to them for long time. Hotel has friendly staffs but they are very less in number and because of that they hardly be able to provide service in time. You may need to wait a long for your food in their restaurant if there are some more orders from other guests along with you. Sometimes we had to serve ourselves own from the kitchen to help themselves as well as to save some time. Food prepared is tasty and hygienic. Hotel has an accessible roof from where you can get a good view of the surroundings.

It was a nice place to stay with a view of great Himalayas and give you a feel of being in the lap of nature but limitation in food services is a major drawback. The cottage we opted was pretty comfortable. The overall accomodation was very clean and bestowed with natural beauty. It would be an excellent place for peace and nature lovers but needs a serious improvement in food facilities.

Situated above the small market/jeep stand where all the other hotels are, Nagbeli gives a lovely secluded experience surrounded by lots of flowers and birds. The cottages are nice, and the rooms in the building are all clean and efficient. The staff is the friendliest - and I have travelled all over the country and abroad. In fact, Mr. Subba, who is the owner, is a perfect gentleman and believes in caring for his guests as if they are family. This is one hotel which I truly feel is my home away from home.
