I love the stay over there the people were nice open and helpful. A lot of interesanting conversation combined with enough time to rest and chill. On the rooftop there is a restaurant which got really good food the interior is made of bamboo it brings a nice setting and it is very eco friendly

Travelled to Varanasi in early November 2018. I stayed in Hostale, at the beginning with 3 days but it turned out 7 nights and 8 days, female dorm. The room was clean, the guys (staffs) were very kind and friendly. The breakfast was simple: toast, egg and small chai, but with such price, it was already a compliment, and the staff makes it good enough.

Stayed here for 2 nights, the guy on reception was funny and constantly cracked jokes but was incrediably friendly and helpful whenever we needed it. I would highly recommend taking the morning boat tour from the hostel, it cost 300 rupees and lasted about 3 hours. It included us being taken to a local breakfast street food and getting to taste the best chai of my life. We stayed in the private room which was incrediably nice. The common room area was large and comfy, not too busy so quite a quiet atmosphere but this was true for all of Varanasi so I think in the peak season it would have a good atmosphere.

Here i found the most unfriendly staff i have found in all my travels. The guy from the rooftop was very rude. They said the thing in the rooftop is a Bar, but that is not a Bar at all. The menu options are noodles soup with maggie and eggs, thats it. They dont offer variety of drinks.
Bumpy Vibe, But Comfy Bed

This hostel is conveniently located near Assi Ghat, touristy cafes, as well as the locals' fruit-&-veg morning market. The interior was smokey with several stoned guests, lounging in shared spaces that seemed oddly decorated with only antagonists from modern Western pop culture. Although my interactions with the manager and his staff seemed a little infused with snark, it was impressive that they could do so in English--very strong English spoken here. Moreover, the female-only dorm had clear, cool air, a comfy bed, and a clean, attached bathroom. I slept soundly.
for female travellers (solo): it's better to choose female dorm, it is clean, more privacy and safe.

Dont eat in the rooftop

Female travelers will appreciate the women-only dorm. For 100 rupees extra, it's much cleaner than the mixed-dorm.

Try staying in the rooms which offer ensuite washrooms.
