I stayed 4 nights at this lovely place right at the centre of Assi Ghat. The rooms are very spacious and clean and the entire hotel breathes the history of past flourishing times. Very helpful staff and breakfast is included. Rooftop terraces to enjoy great views of the river.

We arrived at the Ganges View Hotel after some relatives recommended it to us. We were surprised by the great location in the Assi Ghat and the beautiful ancient design of the hall and corridors leading to the rooms. The room was clean and spacious enough for a short stay. Staff was helpful and nice. Will definitely recommend it to people visiting Varanasi.

This hotel is a property spread over three stores, located on the Assi Ghat. It is very convenient for attending the Subah e Benaras programme held every morning from 5 to 7 am. Not to be missed programme. The rooms are smallish and so are the beds. The tea coffee maker and other amenities are adequate. All these are more than made up for by the beautiful views of Gangaji from every corner of the hotel. The sit out areas are tastefully decorated and so is the overall decor of the hotel. Beautiful paintings, masks and other treasures are displayed throughout the hotel. It was a pleasure meeting the owner of the property, such a gentleman! The staff are more than happy to help, we had requested for a special meal, which they were happy to arrange for us. The home style food for the breakfast that we had, was welcome. The beautiful Hanuman Temple at the entrance is just so perfect. A source of prayer and strength, and so lovingly maintained by the owner. Cannot thank my friend enough for recommending this place to us. Except for the very elderly, who might have a problem with the steep stairs and no lift, it is the place to stay in Varanasi.

This was my favorite hotel in a three week tour of India. It is a private family mansion, decorated as if it were still a family residence. It overlooks the Assi Ghat which is a minute walking distance from the hotel. The rooms are quaint and clean with en suites. The dining room serves a family style dinner every night-just let them know if you want to dine. Very reasonable-350rupees each (cash). There are many terraces, one outside every room. There are evening and morning ceremonies daily. We viewed these from a boat at sunset and then sunrise. The morning we departed we viewed a smaller sunrise ceremony from the hotel rooftop! It is easy to walk about outside the hotel to the ghats. We felt safe doing so. The staff is very friendly and speak English. I highly recommend this hotel!
