Very bad experience. Most of the rooms are in very dilapidated condition. Most rooms are damp & have no windows also. We have gone there in the month of January, 2018. Stayed in a so called "Delux" room of 1200/-. But it didn't have any Geyser, no intercom, no room heater, not even a tubelight! The hot water & room service is also worse. You have to take your own bucket downstairs & take in hot water for bathing, or to call the hotel attendent, if you wish. The hotel staffs are also not coperative. The only plus point is its location. (Not recommendable at all!)

This new hotel is very conveniently located between Godhulia more and dashaswamedh Ghat and very near to the main entrance of Biswanath Temple.Since it has an elevator, we opted for a room in top floor of this five storied building which became a curse! Though it was mentioned that the hotel has power backup, but the lift and AC do not operate during Power failure which is a frequent and daily phenomenon in Varanasi. So we had to negotiate so many stairs everyday.The hotel has no kitchen and so the complimentary breakfast they advertise is outsourced from outside and it is very inadequate, frugal, and limited to two choices of either two alu Parathas or two sandwiches.Moreover, this breakfast is never supplied before 9 AM.As a result, if you have any sightseeing to do, you have to skip this breakfast. Moreover tea brought from outside is very often cold.Hot water is available for 2 to 3 hours in the morning, so you have to take your bath in the morning before breakfast is served..The hotel, being new, rooms are big, very clean, washroom is also very good and clean and the room has all furnitures except mini fridge,safe deposit locker.. Bed linens are clean but not changed daily. I stayed for 5 nights and it was changed once on being requested. The main market for sarees and dress materials are located right around the hotel.One mischief played by the hotel staff is that though I stayed in an AC room, AC connection was discreetly disconnected from outside the room .On enquiring, I was told that AC was not run in winter.After I protested, the connection was restored. I booked the room through OYO and the staff were very polite and ready to help which however cannot be said about that Sahu Hotel management.

PROS: Location - If you want to be close to the Kashi Vishwanath temple, ghats and some of the famous eateries like Laxmi Tea and Kashi Chat Bhandar. Only a few mins walk to Dasashwamedh Ghat. CONS: EVERYTHING ELSE including booking experience. The section below is almost going to be an essay on what all can go wrong with a simple hotel booking! Booking Experience: Travelled with family and had initially booked 3 rooms in Hotel East View with Oyo on 24-Sep-2017. Our check in date was 1-Nov-2017. Had a child in our group so needed hot water along with easy access to ghats which is the reason I chose Hotel East View. Online reviews that I came across were decent. The other hotels of Oyo close to ghats did not have geyser facility. An Oyo executive called me on 31-Oct after 2 PM in the afternoon, which was just a day before we were to travel and told me that their partnership with Hotel East View is ending on that day so they need to shift me to another hotel (Hotel Sahu). My first reaction was one of surprise - how can you be so careless to inform me of this only one day before I am to travel?? What if I was already enroute with family? And if your partnership was ending then you must have known of this many days in advance! But they simply chose to push the customer to a corner and there is a specific reason I say this Please note that the weekend of 3-Nov was Dev Diwali/Karthik Poornima which I came to know later on and almost every hotel was fully booked in Varanasi during that time. My first question was does Hotel Sahu have geyser facility because this was my primary requirement and the person assured that yes it does have. Fine, so I asked for details to be provided before I confirmed the new hotel. Was sent a link and looked ok but did not appear as good as Hotel East View but met the basic requirement I had. This new booking almost cost me the same amount as well with only a small refund although this was not at all at the same level as the other one which fell in the premium category. On that day, cost of Hotel East View was almost double of Hotel Sahu. I was outside so requested that they call me back after an hour or two which the person agreed to. No one called in 2 hours so decided after 4 PM to call their helpline number myself. Explained the situation but their executive on the other end had no clues regarding my booking or that someone from their team had contacted me. I asked this to be escalated since I was to travel soon and needed to know if I indeed have a confirmed booking. Specifically requested to be updated by 7 PM but no calls came through. This was followed by a string of calls since this kind of inaction simply irritates you at the last minute. They tried to assure me that it is an Oyo Flagship property (in other words, maintained by Oyo itself) so facilities would be all upto the mark. Finally closed the deal by 8.30 PM after an exhausting rearrangement talks. Day 1 1-Nov: Called the hotel on the day of travel to inform at about 5 PM that would be reaching soon by train and that it would be good to have all 3 rooms on the same floor. Reached the place by 8 PM finally and was given rooms 313, 316 and 318. When we saw the rooms, all of us were completely aghast by the complete LACK of CLEANLINESS in any aspect of the room. Posting the pictures so you can see for yourself. 1) Completely dirty bathrooms floor had not been cleaned for ages and was visibly black with hairs strewn around plus had shoe prints over it, commode had poop marks so obviously had not been cleaned. 2) NO GEYSER in any of the rooms although they claim they have. 3) Room floor itself was dirty again with small hairs around. 4) Bed although made up had obviously not been changed with new sheets or pillow covers. Again hairs could be found on the bed. 5) Whatever furniture was there had a visible layer of dust all over. 6) 316 had seepage issues in many places making the walls look quite ugly 7) Phone was not working in one of the rooms 8) Single towel was provided in each room although they would have known the number of people In short, the ROOMS WERE A NIGHTMARE! Complained to the front desk about all this asking every single thing to be cleaned and mind you this was already night-time and all of us were extremely tired after the long train journey. He sent 1 person to do the cleaning who seemed uninterested in doing the job efficiently did not complete a single thing even in 30 mins. Got irritated and called the front desk person to actually come upstairs and look at the situation himself. What followed was a bunch of excuses: 1) Oyo just took over this property 10 days back Hmm, so what do you expect the customer to do about the dirty rooms. You should not have opened for booking if you were not ready! 2) Oyo does not have trained staff here Well, is the customer to suffer for that? Isnt it your responsibility to ensure things are in order? 3) This one took the cake - All the geysers were burnt out 2 days back What!!?? Amazing excuse! There was no geyser point in any of the bathrooms so obviously the geysers never existed! By this time it was 9.30 PM and the front desk guy mentions that we might have other rooms. So what were you doing till now? Looked at 402 and 404 looked slightly better than the others for the only reason that there was no poop remnants in commode. Rest all issues were the same so anyhow had to be cleaned. Since we were both tired and hungry now, simply dumped our luggage in one room and asked the other 2 rooms to be cleaned by the time we return. Had to keep 318 with the assurance that we would be shifted to 407 the next day. Cleaning was completed just before midnight when everything should have been ready without requiring the customer to be supervising! One of the cleaning guys was himself grumbling that this should have been already done and that the manager should have checked beforehand instead of doing all this at the last minute. About HOT WATER simple enough requirement? Nah! As per the manager, you can call the front desk anytime and they would arrange. We had to start early morning next day so needed hot water at 5.30 in the morning first of all, no one picked up the phone for some time so I am guessing that the front desk person was either away or sleeping. When someone finally attended the call, it took another 20 mins for someone to actually turn up at your room. They take your bathroom bucket and take another 10 mins to actually provide the hot water. If you opt for this place and need hot water then please plan an hour in advance to take bath! Note I had tried calling this same manager after 11 PM in the night to chase on remaining cleaning activities and this person again did not pick the phone for several times and then when he finally responded, simply said that whatever you need you can ask the cleaning boy. In short, shirking any kind of responsibility. About complimentary BREAKFAST Apparently its Poha and/or Aloo Paratha along with tea everyday. We asked for Aloo Paratha with tea since we saw that being taken for some other room and none of us wanted to have poha. The manager said they can only give poha which was not correct since aloo paratha was available. We had to again push saying we can see that it is being served and then he finally agreed. Breakfast is served in room. This again includes delay so you have to give atleast 30 mins for it to be served! Note On day 1 of our stay, we were given aloo paratha without any accompaniments and only teapot was served without any cups; they had instead provided milk serving dish to have tea and that too only 4 for 6 people. You cannot really drink from a milk serving dish because of its small tapered mouth so asked for actual cups. We were too tired from the experience so far to ask for any accompaniments. On day 2, we were provided breakfast properly with accompaniments of pickle and ketchup and proper tea cups. Aloo paratha was okay but tea was only half warm on both days. About FACILITIES Do not believe in the facilities listed on Oyo website or their customer care team who are also possibly unaware of the ground realities as my experience with geyser proves this. One of the rooms (404) did not even have a cupboard in room to keep stuff or a vent in bathroom. Dustbin was also missing so had to be separately requested. Carry your own towel, small cloth to cover pillow and a bedsheet since the sheets we got were ancient with marks on them (one was torn as well) this is just in case you do plan to stay here. You have to ask for water bottles everyday yourself; these are not replaced by hotel. You also need to check that you are getting sealed water bottles since we as well as other guests got unsealed bottles initially filled with local drinking water and had to demand those to be replaced. Water was falling in thin stream from bathroom tap in 402 and even after complaining at front desk, nothing was done about it. We had to actually use the shower to fill bucket instead of the tap. One decent item in the whole room was the toiletries supplied these were Biotique products so was of decent quality. TO OYO Do not cause this kind of inconvenience or disastrous experience for unsuspecting customers. So much for Flagship property when you cannot even take care to provide a decent, clean room. You need to change bedsheets, pillows etc since these are not in good shape. You should have the right information about the properties you manage with right listing of facilities instead of misleading customers shabby work there. Hope you people really take a hard look at improving overall customer experience. Hotel Sahu can be made into a good hotel provided you actually put in effort to improve and strongly monitor services.

As per the location of this hotel it's the best one.just opposite to kashi viswanath temple.but in durga puja time cabs drop you 300 meter away from the hotel which is 3 min walking distance.good rooms special 109 and 110 room no.food good must try banarasi aloo dum.staff is helpful and will well behaviour.

The only positive part is, the hotel is just opposite to the "Singh Duar" entrance of Biswanath Temple and 3/4 minutes walking distance from Dashasamedh Ghat. But having said that, this does not mean that this is the only property available in this vicinity. There are lots of other hotels to choose from. The problems: 1. Room service - Pathetic. So much so that I started refilling the water jugs myself. The room service for dinner and lunch was so late that we slept off when it arrived. 2. AC's of the room - I cannot even term it as a near AC. Its rather a blower/fan with air flowing in that is warm. When asked to repair the same, the so called skilled technician did some investigation and show-off, which paid off to nothing. When told to the manager, he said that the AC's need to be fixed, although price of the room remained the same. 3. Cleanliness - A group of about 30 people came along with their cook and arrangements for cooking which made the lives of fellow guests miserable. The whole corridor stinked. In short, please avoid this property. Its better to stay on ghats where you will get life and experience than to stay in this crap!!!!
