It was worst experience in varanasi .He is very good with his words..but worst in service . There were no extra bucket for bathroom. He charged us for toilet paper ,V stayed for 2 days but within two no cleaning was done.I asked him to change the room but he refused stating that all rooms are booked ,since it was night i didnt realised next day morning i came to know only one room was booked. He wont give u original bill again its a black money. And the area were the guest house is located is a nightmare.I will suggest you all that never ever go to his place ...Even he offer you free rooms..

*We travelled India for 3 months (February-May) staying mostly in budget friendly accommodations in a private room with attached bathroom. We are a young Canadian couple. Other accommodations that we stayed at in India that we rated between 3-5 stars are: Hotel the Spot, Roundcube Bungalows, 03, Flavia, Prevamati Guesthouse, Gir Wild Farms, Cosy Guesthouse, Tofu Hotel & Safari, Vermas Homestay, Sunface Homestay, and Ram Yoga House. Prices for the private rooms we stayed in (depending on location and time of year) ranged from 400-2500 rupees a night, but typically we paid around 700-1000 rupees. Our reviews are based on the specific rooms we stayed in.* Kedar Guesthouse: We stayed at kedar guesthouse for 1 week at the end of February. Overall, for a *low budget accommodation*, we give Kedar Guesthouse a rating of 4/5. The accommodation itself is about a 3.5... We got the room for a very cheap price - 650 rupees - so we were happy with the service, however we probably wouldn't pay any more than 900 rupees/night (not sure the actual room rate). With that being said, the hospitality and kindness of the owners definitely makes this place deserving of a 4 star accommodation. I want to clarify that there seem to be 2 types of rooms. Rooms that are finished with tile flooring, tile bathroom, and appear cleaner (on the first floor) and rooms that are not yet done which have concrete floors and the whole bathroom is concrete (on the upper level). We booked 2 rooms as there were 3 of us and we booked through agoda (very cheap) and so ended up with the not yet finished room. However, due to the photos we saw posted on various online platforms we were dissatisfied with the room we received. These unfinished rooms I would not recommend (had we not been given different rooms, we would have left). After discussion with the owner we were moved to the better rooms on the first floor and these rooms I would recommend. PROS -The owners of the guesthouse are *wonderful*. I cant stress this enough! Some examples: (1) We (without realizing) had booked a shared bathroom. We had been having stomach problems for over 1 week at this point so the owners provided us with a room with an attached bathroom at no extra cost as a kind favour. He also offered us medicine that he keeps for guests who are sick (we didn't use it) (2) We accidentally left some clothes hanging out to dry and only remembered once we had reached the train station. We called the guesthouse to see if there was any way to get the clothes to us and the owners did us the biggest favor. They acted fast and had our clothes sent to us on a tuk tuk JUST in time, all out of kindness! (3)We arrived at 4am and were still offered tea or coffee (4) They are always welcome to chat and the man loves to tell jokes and make people laugh. Very personable. They also have a toddler who is super cute and he's always around to play with if you choose. - hot water works well, towels are provided - wifi worked well - the room has a ceiling fan - location is perfect .. It is very close to assi ghat (the holy river). This is on one end of the ghats. We walked along the whole thing and we liked assi ghat the best. The main ghat was much too busy. Assi ghat has a peaceful, quiet feel. There are prayer ceremonies in the evening (the same one is done at the main ghat but there is much more crowded). You can walk the ghats or you can take a boat ride instead (Bargain hard! We got dropped off at the main ghat for 200-250 rupees split by 3 people.. We couldn't find any cheaper). There are also tuk tuks if you walk out to the street however we didn't use them to see the ghats. - breakfast is included (toast and a banana OR roti, a banana, and an Indian dish) CONS - the hallways can get really smelly depending on where your room is located (there is a small river in the back which has garbage and a very very strong odour). However, the smell never transferred into the room. - there is apparently a rooftop with a restaurant and the owners offer free morning yoga there as well, however the restaurant was closed when we were there and the rooftop was being used for supplies so we weren't able to sit up there and enjoy (we didn't request yoga) - as mentioned above about the unfinished rooms on the upper level - i dont recommend - toilet paper costs extra - the guesthouse is down some alleys ways which are a bit dirty (as one can expect in India) but it is nice because you get to see some local indian culture and the children are always excited to see you pass by! As well, it can be hard to find but once you know where the guesthouse is then it is no problem! There are arrows painted on poles along the way. We arrived at 4am and had to insist our tuk tuk find the spot and drop us at the door.
