What's Good: I alongwith my family had come to Varanasi and stayed at Riya Palace for 5 days in the second week of November 2014. The ambience was good and the stay extremely comfortable. Mr. Harsh and his aides need to be complimented for this hospitality. The food was great. In short 'a home away from home'.

Had an awesome stay here.....really huge spacious rooms...a mindblowing terrace.....all facilities were up to the mark....delicious healthy breakfast served.....all services were satisfactory.....location is too good, away from the congested parts of Varanasi....Riya Palace presents a homely peaceful atmosphere after a whole tiresome all-day tour.....

An Orwellian experience that rather reminded me of one of my favourite novel. The room was presidential with an extraordinarily well equipped wash room. Cooled my two ceiling fans and a very noisy A/C the room by temperature was very comfortable. Situated in the doctors quarter of town this elaborate home stay (no tax) is far from the madding crowd and 5km from the ghats which is no bad thing. The staff are super helpful and the breakfast for me was adequate (not a big eater). U Po Kyin (the manager) was very helpful if not like all people in the tourist sector rather obsequious. Whilst the accommodation was good value my visit was marred by seasonal temperature so my review may be biased as terse. So in a shell of nuts, Hotel good, temperature tiring, Varanasi not as depicted on all the the photography I saw on line. It's a time of year thing, do not go in June, Try October, November when it is cooler and there is more more water flowing in the Ganges and the bodies are washed away a little faster one would hope.

This is a large home in a nice area, quite a ways away from the Ganges. It is quiet and comfortable. The rooms are large, and air conditioned. We had a large balcony to ourselves where we could relax. We did have a cleanliness issue where we told the owner and he promptly had his helper clean the area. This home is a quiet reprieve from the chaos and pollution of the area. We took a tuk tuk from the Ganges and it took half an hour. We had dinner at the homestay, and it was tasty and good, although a little pricy for the amount of food. Breakfast was included, which was nice. The owner was kind and we would stay here again!

This is a homestay. A bungalow that has been converted into a hotel. We were surprised to see that the size of the room and the bathroom was quite large. The service given was excellent. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast given. Though we were supposed to vacate the room by 12 noon, we were allowed to stay till 4 in the evening when we had to leave for the airport. I would recommend this place for a comfortable stay.

I stayed at this hotel (homestay) in October for two days with my old parents. We didn't book actually. But I had gone through Riya Palace over tripadvisor before the trip and once in Varanasi in the late afternoon and having found the hotel room that was booked looking not at all conducive, I had rather preferred at having my chances at Riya Palace. Fortunately there was a good room with all necessary facilities for a comfortable stay available there and the so well-mannered owner himself had to take the pains to give my parents a lift from a distance of around half a kilometer as entry for taxi etc. to the road was prohibited by the administration due to the Pujas. The location is in a posh residential area called Tagore Town in Orderly Bazar in Varanasi around 6 km from the Ganga Ghats. However, cars were on call all the time and a taxi (a Swift Dezire car) was arranged for us at 05:00 AM ifself to go to the Ganga ghats to watch the mesmerizing view of sunrise in Varanasi and also to take the holy dip in the river. The rooms were comfortably big, clean and well furnished with contemporary furniture, curtains and linens. The room rates seemed resonable. However, meals seemed to be priced a little bit in the upperside.
