I stayed for 3 days in Varanasi in this city centre guest house. The owners, a japanese-indian couple, make me feel like in my house, surrounded by family. Beautiful rooftop with stunning views of the Ganga and the sunrise. Ask for a cool guided boat trip!

San-chan & Akiko-san, and staff are full of warm hospitality. San-chan speaks English, Japanese, Hindi. His guide will make you happy. You can feel real varanasi. Photo is the breakfast tour. So delicious!! Chai tea*2 & butter bread 25 Rupees. Haha. And It takes about 5 minutes for Ganga. Enjoy.

I stayed there during my solo trip and I found a clean and confortable place. Actually I moved from Puja guest house witch was super dirty. At Rudra rooms are clean and confortable, only noisy guest will disturb your rest. Staff is very helpful Location is one of the best: narrow and quiet street just a couple of minutes from main ghats.

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights in a double, non-AC room for 800 rupees per night. Our first night, the room was pretty toasty (outdoor temperatures were in the low 100sF during the day for all of that week), so we asked to be moved to a room with windows and this was done with no hesitation or complaints from the staff. The rooms are painted with bright colors, but otherwise are about what you would expect for a budget stay in India. The location is excellent - less than 5 minutes walk to the main ghat where the ganga aarti fire ceremony is held every night. However, the entrance is up a narrow alley that might be uncomfortable for female travellers like ourselves to walk down at night (although we never had any issues). We were allowed to leave our luggage at the hotel between checkout and leaving for the train station. The restaurant was closed for the off-season during our stay so I can't say anything about the quality of the food.

Comfortable, well behaved owner and others. only drawback is its entrance. it's clumsy, narrow and dirty but if you want to stay peacefully then avoid that negativity.. cooked food available on advance order and those are very tasty. nice to stayed there.
